Challenge the CC Group members Jack, Magician Joker, Knight Club, and Princess Diamond in final fantasy viii. Get the Leviathan card and learn about Level 7 Boss Cards.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Return to the 1st Floor Hall area with the elevator and directory in Balamb Garden. Look for a male adult student walking around who mentions cards. This is Jack, one of the weakest CC Group members, who uses Level 6 Boss cards. Defeat him to learn about the CC Group structure.
  2. 2
Head to the Training Center. At the fork, turn right towards the bridges over water. At the end of a dock, you may find a man in a green jacket. Challenge him to a card game; he is Card Magician Joker. If you win, he offers to upgrade your Battle Meter. He can play Level 6-7 Boss Cards, but his most valuable card is the rare Leviathan card. Play him repeatedly until you obtain it. The Leviathan card can be Card Modded into three Doc's Codes, which teach the Med Data ability.
  3. 3
Go to the northern-most ring-hall area connecting to the Dormitory. Look for another male student. Talk to adult male students until you find the one who mentions he is Club, another CC Group member. Defeat him.
  4. 4
Return to the southern-most section of the ring-hall (the lobby with the elevator and directory). Wait for a pair of girls to walk up from the south and stop near the directory. These are the Diamond Duo, collectively Princess Diamond. Challenge them to a card game. They play every Level 7 Boss card regularly.
  5. 5
Consult the list of Level 7 Boss cards and their Card Mod (a community-made modification that changes the game) items:
    • BGH251F2 → Protect Stone x10
  6. 6
    Catoblepas → Rename Card x1
  7. 7
    Gargantua → Strength Love x1
  8. 8
Jumbo Cactuar → Cactus Thorn x1
  9. 9
    Mobile Type 8 → Shell Stone x10
  10. 10
    Propagator → G-Mega-Potion x1
  11. 11
Red Giant → Meteor Stone x5
  12. 12
    Sphinxara → G-Mega-Potion x1
  13. 13
    Tiamat → Flare Stone x10
  14. 14
    Tri-Point → Jet Engine x1 (requires 40 Tri-Point Cards)
  15. 15
Ultima Weapon → Ultima Stone x1
  16. 16
BGH251F2 can be refined into ten Protect Stones, and Mobile Type 8 into ten Shell Stones. Jumbo Cactuar refines into a Cactus Thorn. Propagator and Sphinxara both turn into G-Mega-Potions. Catoblepas refines into a Rename Card.
  17. 17
Tri-Point cards can be refined into a Jet Engine, which teaches a GF the Spd+20% ability, but requires forty Tri-Point Cards.
  18. 18
One Tiamat Card refines into ten Flare Stones, which is a good source for Flare spells, useful for junctioning.
Tips
  • Having Diablos’s Enc-None ability will make finding Magician Joker less annoying.
  • The Leviathan card is useful as a playing card due to its strong sides, and can be easily flipped by Level 6-7 Boss cards.
  • Farming Level 7 Boss cards from Princess Diamond can be useful for your collection or for their junctioning properties.
  • Flare spells obtained from Tiamat cards are fantastic for junctioning to HP, Strength, and Element Defense.
