Explore Timber in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Find Rinoa's weapons, collect magazines like Girl Next Door and Timber Maniacs 2, and learn about the Pet Shop.

This section covers your arrival in Timber, where you'll encounter Galbadian soldiers. You can avoid these fights using Diablos' Enc-None ability. Watts will direct you to the TV Station, located behind the Timber Maniacs building. You'll start in the Galbadia Platform area and can proceed to the Balamb Platform, where the Pet Shop is now open. Inside, you can purchase pet-related items, including Amnesia Greens, which are useful for Card Mod. The shop also sells Pet Pals Vol.3 and Pet Pals Vol.4, which teach Angelo the Invincible Moon limit and the Angelo Reverse ability. Note that Angelo Reverse is not recommended if you plan to use Angelo Search later.

Returning to the Galbadia Platform, head right to find the Timber Maniacs building. Continue right from there to find a bridge overlooking train tracks. Follow the bridge right to the area outside the Timber Hotel, where a weapon shop is located. Here, you can craft weapons for Rinoa:

The Cardinal is a significant upgrade. Rinoa's ultimate weapon requires Energy Crystals, a Force Armlet, a Regen Ring, and Windmills. You might obtain a Force Armlet from X-ATM092, and twenty Elnoyles can yield Energy Crystals.

Inside the Timber Hotel, you'll find a Save Point. Heading down and right from the hotel leads to the Gate screen, where Galbadian elites threaten Timber guards. Intervening will result in thanks from the guards but no passage. Instead, return to the Galbadia Platform and head right to the exterior of the Timber Maniacs building. Enter the building and search the top-most pile of books on the right side of the hallway to find Girl Next Door magazine. In a small room to the left, search a desk to find a Blizzaga draw point. Back in the main hallway, head up to an office. Search the right side of the room for Timber Maniacs 2 magazine. After leaving the Timber Maniacs building, you can speak to a man who directs you to a house. Inside, go upstairs and look out the window to see an alley leading to the TV Station, accessible from the Pub. You may also find a restorative fountain, but interacting with it after snipping an old man's stash will result in losing access.
