Complete the Lunar Base section in final fantasy viii, including getting the Alexander Card and Laguna Card, and witnessing the Lunar Cry.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Exit the save point room by heading right, then up. Continue up past stairs and exit right to the control room.
  2. 2
Follow your companion to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically).
  3. 3
Save your game near Rinoa. Use Card Mod (a community-made modification that changes the game) to discard all but your best cards, keeping cards weaker than Level 6 Boss cards.
  4. 4
Return to the control room and challenge Piet to a game of cards. The Lunar Base rules are Open, Sudden Death, Random, Same/Plus/Same Wall, and Elemental.
  5. 5
Play Piet until he offers the Alexander Card. Win it.
  6. 6
Challenge Ellone to a game of cards. She fields powerful cards, including Level 6 Boss Cards.
  7. 7
Play Ellone until she offers the Laguna Card. Win it.
  8. 8
Save your game, then return to Ellone and talk to her. She will follow you.
  9. 9
Head back to the Med Bay to Rinoa. You will witness a scene where Rinoa is not herself and runs off.
  10. 10
Follow Rinoa to the control room. After she leaves, stand by your companion to witness monsters appearing from the moon.
  11. 11
Leave the control room and head upstairs. In the hallway leading to Ellone's room, you will witness the Lunar Cry.
  12. 12
Enter a room near a fallen man and approach the airlock to see Rinoa depart.
  13. 13
Search a locker near the top of the screen to get Squall into astronaut gear.
  14. 14
Enter the airlock and attempt to follow Rinoa, but the way will be sealed. Return to the Lunar Base.
Tips
  • Consider saving your game before challenging Piet and Ellone, as abolishing rules can be difficult to reverse.
  • Piet often fields weak cards, but watch out for the Plus rule.
  • Playing enough games with Piet can randomly abolish a rule. Quitting the game screen after entering it also counts, though it may be tedious. Abolishing Random or Plus is beneficial.
  • The Alexander Card can be turned into three Moon Curtain items via Card Mod, teaching GFs Auto-Shell. You can keep Alexander until leaving the Lunar Base or refine it immediately.
  • The Laguna Card refines into one hundred Hero items via Card Mod, granting temporary invincibility.
