Phases:

1. Adel drains Rinoa's HP to cast powerful spells like Energy Bomber, Flare, Meteor, Quake, and Ultima.
2. Rinoa's life force fuels Adel's offense, and if Rinoa dies, you lose.

Strategy:

• Protect Rinoa: Adel will regularly absorb HP from Rinoa. You must keep Rinoa alive. If Rinoa dies, it's game over.
• Heal Rinoa: Use items, Recover, or spells to heal Rinoa. You can also draw Regen from her, but Adel's HP drain is often faster.
• Mitigate Damage: Auto-Shell is highly recommended to help mitigate Adel's powerful magic, especially Ultima.
• Watch for Ultima: If you see the warning message “Magic powers are concentrated on Adel!”, prepare to heal.
• Avoid AoE Attacks: Be careful with area-of-effect attacks, including some GFs, limits (especially Squall's finishers), and spells like Meteor and Ultima, as they can hit Rinoa. Zell's basic limits and Irvine's limits (avoiding Fire/Shotgun Ammo) are generally safe.
• Draw Spells: You can draw Dispel, Esuna, and Regen from Rinoa. While Dispel and Esuna are not useful against Adel, Regen can help keep her alive.
• Mug Rinoa (Risky): You can attempt to Mug Rinoa for 8x Megalixirs, but this is very risky as her HP is relatively low.
• Mug Adel: You can steal a Samantha Soul from Adel.
• Exploit Weakness: Adel is weak to Wind damage. Junctioning Wind-elemental magic to your Attack command will speed up the fight.
• Direct Damage: If you're not mugging, focus on dealing damage to Adel. Aura can be useful if cast on Zell or Irvine for their limit breaks. Melee combat is also effective.
• Goal: Defeat Adel to rescue Rinoa and allow Laguna to carry out his plan.
