Mission 07: Bituitus, the Pillager

Alright, let's tackle Mission 07: Bituitus, the Pillager! This is a pretty straightforward mission once you know what you're up against. You'll need to have completed Mission 03 to even get this one, so make sure that's done.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: The Fight Begins

   You'll activate the mission in the Paddraean Archaeopolis. Head down the stairs into the courtyard; this is where the cutscene will play and Bituitus will spawn. The fight starts with Bituitus using Miasma, which can inflict some nasty status ailments on your party. Keep an eye on those debuffs and be ready to cure them.

2. Phase 2: Bituitus's Attacks

   Bituitus uses an attack called Levinbolt, which deals Lightning-elemental damage. It also halves all elemental damage, making it a bit tanky against magic, but remember, it's still *weak* to magic overall. Its ATB gauge fills up pretty fast, so be prepared for a constant barrage.

3. Phase 3: Staggering and Victory

   Bituitus has a high Stagger point, and combined with its resistance to elemental attacks, it can be tough to stagger. Focus on dealing magic damage to build up its stagger gauge. Once you finally defeat it, Bituitus will retreat into a crystal cocoon. Don't worry, this is normal!

Strategy:

• Party Composition: Since Bituitus is weak to magic, make sure you have at least one strong magic user in your party. Consider a balanced party with a Sentinel and a Medic to keep everyone alive.
• Buffs and Debuffs: Use buffs like Protect and Shell to mitigate damage, and debuffs like Slow or Deshell if you can land them.
• Healing: Keep a close eye on your HP, especially after Miasma and Levinbolt. Don't hesitate to use your Medic's abilities.
• Post-Battle: After you defeat Bituitus, you'll receive an R&D Depot as your initial reward. If you repeat the mission, you'll get Bomb Core x5. The game also mentions that defeating certain other marks (7, 12, 27, 30, 34, and 51) will cause one of the Cie'th stones to stand up. The cocoon Bituitus retreats into is actually a precursor to the superboss Vercingetorix in Mission 64, so keep that in mind for later!
