Navigate the Abandoned Dig in Final Fantasy XIII! Learn enemy weaknesses, find key items like Perovskite, and overcome Cie'th challenges in this walkthrough section.

Alright, so you've made it to the Abandoned Dig, and yeah, it's pretty much what it sounds like – a place crawling with Cie'th. Don't worry too much about the paths splitting up here; they just loop back together. Your main goal is to clear out all the enemies for that sweet, sweet CP. Just run the loop a few times!

You'll run into these guys called Strigoi. They're super weak to elemental attacks, so get your Ravagers in there to Stagger them quickly. A solid strategy is to hit them with a SAB first to debuff them, then switch to Relentless Assault to finish the job. They're not too tough, and you'll only fight them one at a time in this initial stretch. Take out the six of them, and then keep pushing forward.

Once the paths join back up, you'll spot a Treasure Sphere right in front of you. Go grab it – it's got **Perovskite** inside! Keep moving, and you'll encounter a different kind of Cie'th: a Vetala. These guys are a pain because they're immune to physical attacks until you Stagger them. So, again, Ravagers are your best bet to get them staggered. Once they're staggered, you can hit them with Deprotect and then switch to all COMs to take them down. Magic isn't super effective against them, so just use it to get them staggered.

Just past the Vetala, you'll face a couple more Strigoi, and this time you'll have to fight them together. Just stick to the same tactics as before – elemental attacks and debuffs – and you should be fine. Be a little more careful since there are two of them. After that, you'll find a Save Station. The door beyond it can be opened, but you'll need to have accepted a Cie'th Stone mission first for it to budge. Once you've done all that, there's nothing else to do here, so head back to the Ceiling of Sky.
