Alright, so you've made it to Chapter 2 and you're about to face your first real boss: Anima. This thing is a fal'Cie, which means it's a pretty big deal in the world of Final Fantasy XIII. Don't worry, though; I'll walk you through it.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Level / HP: LV 88 / 3,300 HP
• Strength / Magic: 31 STR / 57 MAG
• Stagger / Chain Resist / CP: 300% / 100 Chain Resist / 0 CP
• Vulnerabilities: None
• Common Drop / Rare Drop: Doctor’s Code (100%) / None

Phases:

1. Anima has two Manipulator adds. You need to defeat both Manipulators to progress.
2. Anima will revive the Manipulators after a short period.
3. The fight continues until Anima's HP is depleted.

Strategy:

• Your main goal here is to destroy Anima, but you absolutely need to focus on the two Manipulators first. They're the key to winning this fight.
• When you attack the Manipulators, Anima will waste time trying to bring them back. This gives you a breather and a chance to deal damage.
• Don't forget to use your Potions to heal! Anima hits pretty hard, and you don't want to get caught with low HP.
• If you popped a Fortisol before the fight, you'll be attacking much faster, which is a huge help. Keep up the assault on those Manipulators until they're down.
• Once they're gone, turn your attention to Anima. When it revives them, just do the same thing again: take out the Manipulators.
• After you've dealt with the adds a couple of times, Anima will be vulnerable. Keep wailing on it until its HP is gone.

After you finally defeat Anima, you'll get Doctor’s Code x5. These are super useful because they double the effect of your Potions, making your healing much more efficient.
