Alright, so you're looking to tackle the 'Dying on the Vine' side quest in Final Fantasy XVI? It's a pretty straightforward one, but you'll need to have made a bit of progress in the main story first. Specifically, you need to have unlocked the 'Alliant Reports' feature, which happens during the main quest 'Righting Wrongs'. Where to Find the Pests: Emile's going to ask you to clear out some pesky Vintner Wasps that are messing with the harvest. Head southwest from Lostwing until you reach an area called Gaultamds’s Bales.

Dealing with Flying Enemies: You'll find a bunch of Vintner Wasps here, and they're annoyingly airborne. To make things easier, start the fight by using Garuda's 'Deadly Embrace' ability. This will pull them down to the ground where you can actually hit them.

Follow-up Attacks: Once they're grounded, switch to a strong single-target ability like 'Gouge' to take them down quickly. While you're focusing on one wasp, don't forget to use 'Aerial Blast' for some Area of Effect (AoE) damage to hit any others nearby.

Loot and Return: After you've dealt with all the wasps, take a moment to explore the field. There might be some chests hiding around that contain useful crafting materials and accessories. Once you're done looting, head back to Lostwing and report to Emile to wrap up the quest.

Tips

Make sure you have Garuda's 'Deadly Embrace' and 'Aerial Blast' abilities equipped before you head out. They're super helpful for this fight.
