You'll snag Heatwave pretty early on, right after the prologue, during the quest 'A Chance Encounter.' It'll cost you 120 AP, but you'll likely have enough saved up from the prologue. Normally, Heatwave just shoots out one shockwave, or two if you upgrade it. But here's the secret sauce: if you use Heatwave *just* as an enemy's projectile is about to hit you, Clive will actually swat that projectile away. This is called a Heatwave Counter, and it doubles the shockwaves you send out. It's super effective against any enemy that throws stuff at you.

To snag that trophy, you just need to pull off two of these Heatwave Counters in a single fight. Most regular enemies won't last long enough for you to do this twice, so you'll want to focus on bosses or minibosses. If you grab Heatwave as soon as you can, you can even try it out against the Shiva's Dominant boss – she throws a bunch of projectiles, making her a perfect target.

If you're struggling with the timing, don't sweat it. Once you unlock Hunts, there are some great opportunities. The Ahriman hunt is a fantastic one because it shoots two slow-moving orbs that are perfect for practicing your counters. The Aruna hunt is another good pick; you can see its projectile path beforehand, and it uses them a lot. You'll also find Aevises out in the wild that hurl fireballs, and even some regular enemies like Vampire Thorns have ranged attacks. You can find these around the Martha's Rest area. Just a heads-up: if you have other party members with you, they might defeat regular enemies too quickly. If it's just you and Torgal, though, you can manage the pace better.
