Fanning Embers

You begin in The Greatwood, a lush forest filled with enemies and items. Follow the linear path until you encounter a pack of Wolves. Cid and Torgal will join your party.

After defeating the Wolves, continue forward. A cutscene will play, introducing the boss of the area, Fafnir.

Jump down to the next area and encounter Vampire Thorns, plant-like enemies that spew poison gas. Dodge their attacks as they raise up to avoid the gas.

After defeating the Vampire Thorns, continue along the narrow cliffside path to a large open area for a boss fight against an Aevise. This enemy is easy to dodge and hit. You can warp to it for attacks and then dodge backward.

After defeating the Aevise, grab the Potion located nearby.

Press in on the left stick to have Torgal point the way forward.

Encounter a group of Wolves and Vampire Thorns, with a second wave appearing after the first is defeated. Use Torgal to find the path forward.

You will find yourself above a giant arena to fight Fafnir of the North. This boss is relatively slow and easy to manage.

After defeating Fafnir, go through the hole in the arena back into the forest. Grab the Potion on the ground.

Encounter Hornets and more Vampire Thorns. Proceed forward and follow the small river, fighting another Aevis and other enemies.

Open the wooden crate at the end of the path for a Meteorite.

At the end of the path, you will find soldiers. After a cutscene, you must fight the Midnight Raven.

Defeating both Fafnir and Midnight Raven without taking damage awards the Curiosity: Medal of Valour.

The Midnight Raven battle is fairly easy, but watch for cinematic strikes where you must quickly mash the Square button to succeed.

After defeating Midnight Raven, a cutscene will play, and you will return to the main map. The next quest is Louder Than Words.
