Follow this guide to complete the 'Boom or Bust: Or' side quest in Horizon Forbidden West. Learn how to defeat machines, find clues, and help Delah find her sister Boomer.

Alright, so you've finished 'Breaking Even' and Delah's ready to go find her sister, Boomer. This side quest, 'Boom or Bust: Or,' kicks off right after that. Head over to Hidden Ember and have a chat with Delah and Abadund to get started.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Go to Boomer’s Last Known Location: After talking with Delah and Abadund, you'll need to head northeast of Hidden Ember. Look for some arches – that's your first landmark. Once you're there, activate your Focus (press R3) and tag the tracks you find.
  2. 2
Kill The Machines: Follow those tracks. They'll lead you to an abandoned ruin that's unfortunately crawling with machines. You'll have to take down three Scrappers and two Clawstriders before you can do any investigating. Remember, Scrappers and Clawstriders both hate Shock Damage and are extra vulnerable from the back, especially if you can hit their Plasma Cell or Razor Tail, respectively.
  3. 3
Examine the Camp: Once the area is clear, head to the back of the ruin and check out the camp. Use your Focus again (R3) to spot more tracks. Follow them, and you'll eventually hit a dead end. Look for anything climbable – your Focus should highlight it – and make your way up. Inside the nearby wreck, you'll find a device to examine.
  4. 4
Go to the Wreck: From the device, head southeast. You'll find another wreckage, and this time you're looking for some Tools. Be ready, though, because as soon as you examine them, you'll get ambushed! Two Longlegs and a Frost Bellowback are waiting for you. The Longlegs are weak to Shock Damage and you'll want to aim for their Concussion Sac at the front. The Frost Bellowback, on the other hand, prefers Fire Damage and has a big weak spot on its back – that large sac. After you've dealt with them, you'll find Delah and Boomer.
  5. 5
Follow Boomer: After a bit of a chat, you'll get the **Boomer Shredder Gauntlet**. Now, you just need to follow Boomer. She'll lead you to a Shellsnapper. These big guys are weak to both Frost and Acid damage, and they've got weak points all over their body, so keep moving and aim for those. Once it's down, have one last chat with Boomer to wrap up this Errand.
Tips
  • When fighting the Scrappers and Clawstriders, Shock Damage is your best friend. Try to flank them for extra damage.
  • Don't forget to use your Focus constantly to find tracks and climbable surfaces – it makes navigating much easier.
  • The Shellsnapper can be a tough fight, so make sure you're stocked up on Frost and Acid ammo before you head out with Boomer.
