Discover how to obtain and use special event tickets like the Mystic Ticket, Aurora Ticket, and Old Sea Chart in Pokemon Emerald to catch legendary Pokemon and access new areas.

In Pokemon Emerald, special events held by Nintendo in real life can grant you unique in-game items and access to legendary Pokemon. These events are announced on www.pokemon.com. Below are the special tickets and what they unlock.

Mystic Ticket

The Mystic Ticket allows you to sail to Navel Rock via the S.S. title. This island features a cave where you can find a ladder leading down. Continue north and then choose a path to the right or left, each leading to a different legendary Pokemon.

Ho-oh

Taking the left path leads to Ho-oh. This Fire/Flying type is 4x weak to Rock-type attacks. Use a high-level Rock Pokemon to lower its HP, then aim to Paralyze or put it to sleep. Be wary of its Recover move, which can restore its health. Ho-oh knows Sunny Day, Fire Blast, and Swift. It is encountered at level 70 and learns Sacred Fire at level 77. After capturing Ho-oh, use Itemfinder at its location to find a Sacred Ash.

Lugia

The right path leads to Lugia. This Psychic/Flying type has a dangerous combo of Hydro Pump and Rain Dance. It also has Recover. It's recommended to put Lugia to sleep and then gradually lower its HP. Recover, Rain Dance, and Hydro Pump all have 5 PP, making it easier to wear down. After it's weakened and afflicted with status, use your best Poke Balls.

Aurora Ticket

The Aurora Ticket grants access to Birth Island. On this island, you'll find a rock that moves when you approach it. You must then navigate a puzzle by walking in specific directions to make the rock transform into Deoxys. The fastest solution involves precise movements:

  1. Down one space, then left to touch the rock.
  2. Right 4 spaces, then north to touch the rock.
  3. South in a straight line until the rock is to your right, then walk right to it.
  4. From the gray ground, head north onto the grass, then left to touch the rock.
  5. The rock moves right; head right and touch it.
  6. Left until the rock is directly in front, then down to touch it.
  7. Down one space, then left to touch the rock.
  8. The rock moves right; go right and touch it.
  9. Left until you are next to the rock, then touch it.

Successfully completing the puzzle turns the rock red and it transforms into Deoxys (Speed Form in Emerald) at level 30. Bring Pokemon around level 30. Deoxys knows Swift, Pursuit, Knock-Off, and Psychic. A Dark-type Pokemon is recommended for resistance. Paralyze or sleep it, then use Poke Balls.

Old Sea Chart

This Emerald-exclusive item allows you to sail to Faraway Island via the S.S. Tidal. Upon arrival, you'll find a forest where Mew is located. Mew will flee, so you need to corner it. Mew is a Psychic-type at level 30. Bring Pokemon in the high 20s or 30s. Avoid bringing legendary Pokemon, as Mew can Transform into them, making the battle difficult. Mew knows Pound, Metronome, Transform, and Mega Punch. A Pokemon with high Defense is advisable. Keep Mew asleep and lower its HP for the best chance of capture.

Eon Ticket

The Eon Ticket requires an E-Reader to obtain and access its associated island. This section is incomplete in the source text.
