    Upon continuing your file, you will be back in your room at Littleroot Town.

    Head downstairs and your dad will reward you with an SS Ticket.

    This ticket allows you to board the SS Tidal to travel between Slateport and Lilycove Cities, and is required to access the Battle Frontier.

    Press A in front of the flashing TV in your room.

    A report will state a bzzt-colored Pokemon was seen flying around Hoenn.

    Your mom will ask you its color; choose 'red' to have Latias appear randomly in the wild, or 'blue' to have Latios roam Hoenn. Unlike in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, you can select which one you want to capture.

    Professor Birch will appear and take you to his lab.

    Inside the lab, Professor Birch will upgrade your Pokedex and your rival's Pokedex to the National Pokedex, allowing trading with Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen and the capture of all 386 Pokemon, including those not on the original Hoenn Pokedex.

    Your rival will remain to help Professor Birch, ending your battles with them.

    Scott will call you, asking you to board the SS Tidal.
