Discover Sootopolis City in Pokemon Emerald! Get HM07 Waterfall, find TMs, rare berries, and challenge Gym Leader Juan for the Rain Badge.

After Rayquaza intervenes and restores normal weather, talk to Wallace to receive HM07: Waterfall. This HM allows you to scale waterfalls outside of battle, but requires the next gym badge to use. Archie and Maxie depart for Mt. Pyre to return the orbs; you can visit Mt. Pyre to witness this event and hear about legendary Pokemon from an old man.

With Sootopolis City now fully accessible, explore its various locations. The Cave of Origin is blocked for the remainder of the game.

Pokemon Center: Located to the right of the gym. Surf to the right of the gym, hop on the ledge, and head up the steps. A person here can teach Double-Edge, a powerful Normal-type move with recoil damage. It's best taught to Pokemon with the Rock Head ability, like Golem, to mitigate the recoil.

Pokemart: Situated on the ledge to the left of the gym, up the steps. Items available include Full Heal ($600), Hyper Potion ($1200), Max Potion ($2500), Max Repel ($700), Revive ($1500), Shadow Mail ($50), Ultra Ball ($1200), X Attack ($500), and X Defend ($550).

TM31: Brick Break: From the Pokemart, head down the steps, then north up four sets of steps. Enter the house on the left to find a man who will give you TM31: Brick Break, a strong Fighting-type move.

Rare Berries: Return to the gym and surf left. A woman here will give you two rare berries daily.

Elixir: Go to where the Pokemon Center was, head north, and enter the house. Two boys are discussing Pokemon sizes. If you show them a Lotad or Seedot larger than 15.7 inches, they will reward you with an Elixir. Note that you cannot see the exact height of Pokemon.

Wailmer Doll: Enter the house east of the Lotad/Seedot house to receive a decorative Wailmer Doll.
