Verdanturf Town

Alright, welcome to Verdanturf Town! It's not the busiest place, but there's a couple of important things you'll want to grab here, including a new HM. Let's get started!

First up, hit the Pokemart. Here's what they've got:

After that, head into the Pokemon Center to heal up your team. While you're there, check out the little kid sitting by the table. If you have a Pokemon that can learn it, he'll teach them Fury Cutter. It's a Bug-type move that starts weak but gets stronger with each consecutive hit. Just a heads-up, though, if it misses or you skip a turn, its power resets, and it doesn't really hold up in the long run, so don't get too attached to it.

Now, let's check out the houses. You can skip the one on the far right. Head into the middle house first. You'll find Wally and his uncle there. They'll mention Wally's feeling better, probably thanks to all the fresh air in town.

Next, go into the house on the left. There's a woman inside who can tell you how happy your top Pokemon is. This is super useful if you're trying to evolve Pokemon like Azurill or Golbat through happiness, so keep her in mind!

Before we leave town, there's a cave to the north, just to the left of the Pokemart. This leads into the Rusturf Tunnel. Remember how it was blocked before? Well, you're on the other side now. Use Rock Smash to clear the boulders. Talk to the guy standing there, and he'll give you HM04, Strength! This move lets you push big boulders around. He'll also reunite with his girlfriend, which is pretty sweet.

Now, here's a little secret: go back to the entrance of Verdanturf town from the tunnel. Follow the path to the left, and you'll find another exit. Outside, there's a guy looking for his lost glasses. Use your Itemfinder to locate them. You'll find the Blackglasses, which boost the power of Dark-type moves when held. Right after that, grab the HP Up nearby – it's always good to give that to your Pokemon with the lowest HP.

With HM04 in hand, it's time to head back to Mauville City. You'll need the next gym badge to use Strength outside of battle, so that's our next big goal!
