Map Piece 1: Travel south of Rhodes, to the "S" in Scarlett Meadows. The body is near a tree with a lantern at its base. The map piece is on a pike behind the tree.

Map Piece 2: Head south of Wallace Station, near the Dakota River. Follow Little Creek River west until it intersects with railroad tracks. Follow the tracks south to a road intersection, then head northeast towards large rocks. The body is on the larger rock, and the map piece is on the smaller one.

Map Piece 3: Go south of Valentine. Follow the railroad tracks south until you see a small bridge/gap. The body is hanging underneath the gap, and the map piece is on a support beam to the side.

Hunting Down the Killer: With the three map pieces, head west and slightly south of Valentine to a small structure on the north side of the road. A large white circle will appear on your map when you are close. Enter the basement via the outside doors.

Confrontation: Inside the basement, read the two letters on the table. In the back room, inspect the knife. You will be knocked out by the killer. When a button prompt appears in the bottom right corner, throw the head at the killer, then punch him. Hogtie the stranger and place him on your horse.

Deliver to Sheriff: Take the hogtied killer to the sheriff's office in Valentine and place him on the floor.

Reward: While the sheriff is locking the man up, he will break free and attack. Shoot the killer to receive your reward of $20 from the sheriff. If you take too long, the sheriff will kill the man himself, and you will not receive a reward.
