Alright, let's get this mission, 'A Quick Favor for an Old Friend,' done. First things first, head up to talk to Uncle by the tree. You'll figure out what to do with the ranch, and then you and Uncle will ride back to Blackwater. Make your way to the lumberyard there to grab the supplies you need.

After the next cutscene, you'll be helping Sadie with a bounty. Follow the marker all the way up to Painted Sky and get off your horse. Head into the barn – watch out, Cortez and his goons are waiting! You'll get into a grapple with Cortez; break free and then knock him down. It won't take much to put him on the ground. Once Cortez is tied up and on the back of Sadie's horse, follow her back to Rhodes.

Take Cortez into the Sheriff's office. Sadie and John will wait for the Sheriff. But Cortez's men aren't going to make it easy – they'll attack from outside. You need to be quick! Head out the front and use Dead Eye to take down as many of them as you can. This should make them start to run away from Rhodes. This is your chance to get those four hip-fire kills you need for the Gold Medal. A shotgun would be ideal here. But just when you think it's over, more of Cortez's men will blow a hole in the cell to break him out!

Sadie will suggest heading to Dewberry Creek, which is where Cortez mentioned he was going on the way to Rhodes. Follow the marker. Sadie will want you to find a good vantage point so you can help with a scoped rifle. There will be a bunch of Cortez's men around, but you need to get at least five headshots. Use Dead Eye to give yourself more time to line up those shots.

Once you've cleared out the first group of enemies, jump down from your spot and go over to Sadie. You'll need to push the remaining men back. Switch to a shotgun or rifle now, and if you haven't gotten those four hip-fire kills yet, this is your best bet to try again. Stick to cover because these guys can overwhelm you quickly. When you get to the riverbank and all the men are down, take aim with your rifle and shoot near Cortez's boat to scare him back to shore. You'll have one last group of enemies to deal with. Take cover behind the nearby rock and take them out. After that, get back on your horse and ride back to Rhodes to drop Cortez off for good.

Tip: Gold Medal Checklist:

  • Force Cortez’s men to flee from Rhodes within 30 seconds
  • Get 5 headshots while covering Sadie with a long scoped rifle
  • Get 4 hip fire kills
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items
