Alright, so you've got your scanner, right? It's not just for finding hidden stuff; you can actually scan enemies in Resident Evil: Revelations, whether they're kicking it or already down for the count. It's a pretty neat mechanic that can even net you some helpful items.

How to Scan:

It's super simple. Just equip your scanner and point it at an enemy. You'll know it's targeted when the scanner locks on. Then, just hold down the scan button. Some enemies are quicker to scan than others. The very first time you scan a specific type of enemy, it'll take a bit longer to get that 100% scan completion. But hey, after that first one, subsequent scans on the same enemy type will be way faster. Think of it as the scanner getting familiar with its target.

Enemy Decomposition:

Keep an eye out after you take down an enemy. Some of them will just straight-up decompose really fast, vanishing into thin air. Others, like most of the Oozes, will just sort of crumple into a little blood puddle on the floor. It doesn't really affect scanning, but it's good to know what to expect.

Getting Free Green Herbs:

Here's the cool part: scanning enemies can get you free Green Herbs! See that meter at the top middle of your screen? It shows your scan percentage. Once you hit 100% on an enemy scan, you'll get a Green Herb. The meter will then reset to 0%. Important: You actually need to raise your scanner *after* hitting 100% to get the herb. If you already have the maximum of five Green Herbs in your inventory, you won't get an extra one. The game's smart like that – it only gives you the herb when you actually have space for it.
