Follow this guide to complete the 'For the Werak' quest in Horizon Zero Dawn's Frozen Wilds DLC. Learn how to repair the Tallneck and clear the bandit camp.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Prove Yourself to the Werak: Aloy and Ourea need Aratak's permission to enter Thunder's Drum. Aratak refuses, suggesting Ourea challenge him for chieftainship. You must complete two of the following four objectives: Clear out the Bandit Camp, Repair and Override the Tallneck, Complete a Trial at the Hunting Grounds, or Talk to Sekuli (which involves gathering pigments).
  2. 2
Repair and Override the Tallneck: Fast travel to Song's Edge and head towards the Tallneck in the Frostfigures (marked by a blue Tallneck symbol). Kill the Daemonic Scrappers and Glinthawks guarding the area. Scan the Tallneck to find three missing parts: Array, Stabilizer, and Actuator.
  3. 3
Actuator: Climb the mountain to the right of the Tallneck to find a Glinthawk nest. Defeat the Glinthawks to retrieve the Actuator.
  4. 4
Stabilizer: Head down to the frozen river and enter the cave. Defeat the Scorcher outside to access the cave, then defeat the Scrapper inside to get the Stabilizer.
  5. 5
Array: Go to the cluster of trees where other Scrappers are located. Find the Scrapper drilling near a flag pole and defeat it to get the Array.
  6. 6
Repair the Tallneck: Reattach the Array, Stabilizer, and Actuator to the frozen Tallneck. Override it at its base. A cutscene will play.
  7. 7
Jump on the Tallneck's back: Use the rocky platform ahead to board the Tallneck. Override it to clear the fog from the map. You will receive the Datapoint - Observer Log US-W-10.
  8. 8
Clear out the Bandit Camp: Follow the waypoint to the bandit camp. You may encounter machines along the way. Consider disabling the control tower, but be cautious of the surrounding Daemonic Fire Bellowbacks.
Tips
  • Repairing the Tallneck clears fog from the map, which is always beneficial.
  • Talking to Sekuli and gathering pigments can be done at any time, even after the main quest line is complete.
  • The Tallneck can be found in the Frostfigures, not far from Song's Edge.
  • Watch out for Daemonic Scrappers, Glinthawks, and a Scorcher when searching for Tallneck parts.
  • A Resist Freeze weave modification can be found in the Glinthawk nest.
  • Datapoint - Observer Log US-W-10
