Follow this guide to complete the Waterlogged side quest in Horizon Zero Dawn. Help Laulai, defeat Snapmaws, and uncover secrets in Greycatch.

Walkthrough

    In Song’s Edge, find Laulai near the campfire and speak to her to accept the Waterlogged side quest.

    Activate the quest in the menu to get a waypoint to the river.

    Cross the walkway and follow the waypoint down the river to Deep Din.

    Kill the Snapmaws that have overtaken the area.

    Return to the walkway and follow the river upstream (North).

    On the right side, find Animal Figurine 2 on the ledge of a broken window.

    Continue upstream to a campfire and the ruins of Greycatch. Activate the campfire.

    In the building next to the campfire, find the Text Datapoint – Emissions Joyride in a window.

    Enter Greycatch through the hole in the wall.

    Use ladders and handholds to reach the control room at the top.

    In the center of the room, find the Audio Datapoint – Secret Show on a chair.

    Use your Focus to examine the control panel and the blinking red schematics.

    Go to the left side of the room and pry open the slightly ajar metal door.

    Open the next door to meet Gildun.

    Work with Gildun to empty the room of water. You will control one valve while he controls another.

    Head up the ladder, go left into the access tunnel, climb the next ladder, and follow the corridor to another ladder leading down.

    Leave the tunnel to the right and find the first valve. Spin it to allow Gildun to lower the gate, then spin it again to lock it.

    Follow Gildun down the ladder and around the walkway, jumping onto a hanging platform to reach the other side.

    Continue along the walkway, jumping across beams, to find the Audio Datapoint – Dam Family next to the railings.

    Climb the ladder and jump across the broken walkway. Pull a lever to release another ladder for Gildun.

    Climb the next ladder to reach the platform above.

    Head left to find the access tunnel and make your way through.

    Climb the ladder into the corridor, then crawl through the opening to the left.

    Take the ladder down, leave the tunnel, and head down the stairs to find the second valve.

    Look up to see the counterweight (a concrete block) hanging from the ceiling.
Tips
  • You can fast travel to the campfire above Deep Din if you have activated it.
  • You don't need to destroy all Snapmaws immediately, but it's recommended to clear them out.
  • The Animal Figurine 2 and Text Datapoint are missable if you do not collect them during this quest.
  • The Audio Datapoint – Secret Show and Audio Datapoint – Dam Family are also missable.
