Complete the Corrupted Zone and find Metal Flower - Mark III (I) in horizon zero dawn. Destroy corrupted machines for 6,000 XP.
Walkthrough
- 1From the Gatelands Campfire, turn west and climb atop the wall. Leap out of the camp and continue southwest down a slope to reach a spot overlooking the lowlands below.
- 2In the field below, you will find a Corrupted Zone inhabited by Corrupted Longlegs and Corrupted Tramplers. You can snipe the Processing Unit under the Tramplers from this vantage point. Be careful not to shoot when they are suspicious, as they will run out of sight if pressured by a foe they cannot reach.
- 3It is difficult to hit the Power Cells on the Corrupted Longlegs from this range, but you can shoot them with Shock Arrows until they fall, then target their Power Cells. Alternatively, thin the herd before dropping down to engage the remaining machines.
- 4From the ledge overlooking the Corrupted Zone, you can take out the Tramplers (left) and the Longlegs (right).
- 5After dealing with the corrupted machines, you will receive 6,000 XP.
- 6From the Corrupted Zone, find Campfires to the south and southwest. The southwest Campfire is the one you should be most interested in.
- 7From the southwest Campfire, head south down a road until you reach a fork at the edge of a jungle.
- 8Follow a road west at the fork and run along the road that marks the boundary between desert and jungle until you reach another fork.
- 9At this fork, turn west to spot a huge rock formation. To get the collectible on top, scale the rock formation by following the northern end west until you spot white ledges (hand-holds).
- 10Use the hand-holds to scale the cliffs. The path will diverge; choose either the right or left path to reach the summit, which is a Glinthawk nest.
- 11Dispose of the Glinthawks, then walk across a taut rope to reach a stand-alone section of rock. Atop this rock, you will find the Metal Flower - Mark III (I).
- 12Climb back down the cliffs and continue following the road west to another fork.
- 13Turn north and follow this road until it bisects another road running east/west. Turn west and cross a bridge to reach a Campfire.
- 14At the next fork, turn north.
- 15At the subsequent fork, turn northeast and cross a bridge, then follow the road north to find another Campfire.
- 16Continue north, then northwest at a fork to reach the Lonesome Rock fort, where information about Nakoa can be found.
- 17Head into the fort and turn on your Focus to examine a cart.
- 18A guard will approach. You can say “Just passing through” to continue looking around, or “Looking for Nakoa” to initiate a fight. The guards will attack when you search the wagon regardless of your dialogue choice.
- 19After the guards are dead, search the wagon and use your Focus to scan cart tracks.
- 20Follow the cart tracks north until they terminate at a compound crawling with corrupt Carja.
- 21You can climb rocks north of the gate to enter the compound or find a breach in the wall to the south. Deal with the enemies inside.
- 22Search the Carja to obtain some Keys.
- 23Use your Focus to reacquire the tracks and follow them to the northeastern end of the complex to find Nakoa in a cellar.
- 24Speak with Nakoa to free her and her fellow slaves.
- 25Head outside and you will be confronted by Zaid. Fight your way through Zaid’s Carja goons and Zaid himself. The lesser goons are not special, but Zaid wields a Firespitter. Focus on thinning his forces first, as his attacks are easy to dodge, then focus on Zaid. He is durable but can be defeated with Triple Shot.
- 26After Zaid and his minions are dispatched, Nakoa will appear.
Tips
- When engaging the Corrupted Longlegs and Tramplers, use the terrain to your advantage and pick them off from a distance.
- Shock Arrows are effective against Corrupted Longlegs to make them fall, exposing their Power Cells.
- The Metal Flower - Mark III (I) is located on a separate rock spire accessible by a rope after climbing the main rock formation.
- At Lonesome Rock fort, if you choose to fight, be prepared for multiple guards.
- When fighting Zaid, prioritize eliminating his supporting Carja goons before focusing solely on him.
