Defend Meridian in horizon zero dawn using the Oseram Cannon against waves of machines, including Deathbringers and Stormbirds.
Walkthrough
- 1After dealing with Helis, loot them and breach the door. Take the zipline down to the Ridge.
- 2Head to the lowest level and pick up the Oseram Cannon from an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you).
- 3Hold down L2 and charge the cannon with R2, then release R2 to fire.
- 4You will face three waves of machines. The first and third waves come from the right, the second from the left.
- 5The first and second waves will each include a Deathbringer, Ravagers, Scrappers, and Bellowbacks.
- 6Aim a little higher to compensate for the Oseram Cannon’s projectile drop. Arch your shots and concentrate fire on the Deathbringers first.
- 7After a short break, the assault resumes with more Deathbringers, Scrappers, and Bellowbacks.
- 8An aerial wave will appear, starting with Glinthawks, followed by a Stormbird. These can be difficult to hit if they keep moving, but the Oseram Cannon deals significant damage on connection.
- 9Once all machines are destroyed, watch the following scene.
- 10After regaining control, sprint through the burning village, looting supply crates and felling stray machines.
- 11Your destination is the top of the Spire. Use handholds and other elements to cross gaps in the path.
- 12Meet up with Erend and others near the top. Loot supply crates to refresh resources.
- 13Climb to the top to face the final boss: a powerful Deathbringer with a lot of health.
- 14The battle starts normally. Aim at the Deathbringer's shoulder guns and underneath them, using walls and pillars as cover (these can be destroyed).
- 15Sona, Varl, and Erend will help distract the Deathbringer.
- 16When the Deathbringer calls in reinforcements (other machines), concentrate on them while the main boss is distracted.
- 17Once the reinforcements are cleared, return to fighting the Deathbringer. Repeat this process when it calls for more machines.
- 18After defeating the Deathbringer, approach HADES and finish it.
Tips
- You need to compensate for the Oseram Cannon’s drop by aiming a little higher.
- Concentrate fire on the Deathbringers first, as they can deal the most damage.
- The walls and pillars can be used as cover, but they can and will be destroyed.
- Your allies might help distract the Deathbringer.
- For ending the war machine threat: 18,000 XP / +1 Skill Points.
After the credits roll, you will be returned to the game world right before visiting Avad during The Looming Shadow. You retain all experience gained, making it easier to reach level 50. You can also go back to complete any unfinished activities.
