Alright, so you've just wrapped up the 'Traitor's Bounty' side quest, and Vanasha's got another favor to ask: getting Itamen and his mom out of Sunfall. Your first job is to find Three-Toe Huadiv. He's chilling at a campfire northeast of the Tallneck in Rustwash. Head over there and chat with him.
Turns out, a 'rock-eating demon' is blocking the pass, making things difficult. You and I both know that's code for a Rockbreaker! Huadiv needs you to take care of it.
Walkthrough
- 1Defeat the Rockbreaker: Huadiv will mention a specific spot you can use to your advantage. There's a small ledge just below where he's standing. Use the valley walls to block the Rockbreaker's attacks from this ledge. Your best bet is to hit it with some freeze arrows to debilitate it, then switch to something else to deal maximum damage to its front loaders while it's frozen. Once it's scrap, head back to Huadiv.
- 2Defend the Escape: After you return to Huadiv, you'll see some cutscenes, and Vanasha and the child king will show up. The Shadow Carja aren't going to let them just leave, so you'll need to help Vanasha fend them off. Before the first wave hits, you're prompted to place a trap – go ahead and do that.
- 3Wave 1: The first wave is pretty straightforward, just three Shadow Carja. Easy peasy.
- 4Wave 2: Shortly after the first wave is down, the second wave arrives. This one has one Shadow Carja and two Corrupted Watchers. These Watchers are easy targets, especially with fire arrows. Take them out quickly.
- 5Wave 3: After a brief moment of peace, it's time for the main event. Before talking to Vanasha again, lay down as many traps as you can – you'll need them. A Corrupted Thunderjaw will appear. While it's still tough, it's more susceptible to fire than a regular one. Your best strategy here is to use tearblast arrows to rip off its disc launchers. You can then use those launchers against it for massive damage. Once the Thunderjaw is defeated, meet Vanasha at the shore to trigger more cutscenes and complete the quest.
Tips
- When fighting the Rockbreaker, remember that freezing it significantly increases the damage you deal. This effect even lasts if it burrows underground!
- Don't underestimate the Corrupted Thunderjaw. Prioritize removing its disc launchers with tearblast arrows to turn its own weapons against it.
- Setting up traps before the final wave against the Corrupted Thunderjaw can give you a significant advantage.
