Strategy:
- Equip Second Chance and Once More abilities as they are crucial for survival, as most attacks are one-hit kills.
- Do not use Cure, Cura, or Curaga, as Vanitas can mimic these spells to heal himself. Use Potions and Hi-Potions instead, which he cannot copy.
- Prioritize dodging over blocking. Dodging provides longer invulnerability.
- Ventus can use Tornado for good damage.
- Aqua and Terra should utilize Mine Shield, Mine Square, and Seeker Mine (for Aqua) by setting traps and luring Vanitas into them.
- Maintain distance and use traps. Occasionally, you can land a Keyblade hit, but it's generally safer to keep your distance.
- A good time to use a potion is immediately after a successful dodge.
- Keyblade: Void Gear
After defeating Vanitas' Lingering Spirit, save your game and load a file where you have access to the Land of Departure. Landing on this world will trigger an event against the game's ultimate challenge, the Mysterious Figure.
