Your guide to Part 39 of Kingdom Hearts II, covering the Agrabah II revisit, the Jafar boss fight, and unlocking new abilities. Master the magic and defeat the villain!
Alright, let's dive into Part 39! You've got Magnera now, which means it's time to head back to Atlantica. But before we do that, there's some unfinished business in Agrabah.
Agrabah II
You'll find yourself back in Agrabah, and right away you'll notice that the last Absent Silhouette is available. Head over to the Palace Walls. Genie will clear the sandstorm for you, opening the path to the ruins. After a scene, you'll get a quick rundown on how to ride the magic carpet – pretty neat!
Your main goal here is to chase down Jafar's Shadow. Keep an eye out as you go, because just below him, you'll spot [TWILIGHT #18]. Continue onward to the next arch, where you'll find [DAWN #35]. Keep chasing Jafar; you'll need to strike him periodically to interrupt his spells.
As you make your way up the tower, you'll see [DAWN #41] along the path. Clear out the Heartless as you ascend. At the top, you'll face more enemies before the next part. Now, it's time for a bit of a puzzle: you need to fly around and activate three switches. The Fire Switch is under a ledge, but let's leave that for a moment. First, grab the Thunder Switch near the start, and then the Blizzard Switch located between some buildings. Once those are done, hit the Fire Switch. If you're quick, you'll beat the time limit and enter the Ruined Chamber.
Inside the Ruined Chamber, open the two chests. You'll get some [TORN PAGES] (that's 25 out of 26) and the [RUINS MAP] (26 out of 26). Climb the stairs to trigger a scene and a minigame. It's not too tough, but be ready to take out any Heartless that attack while you're playing.
After the minigame, chat with the Peddler and then head back to the Palace.
BOSS: Jafar
Stats / Weaknesses:
- HP: 840
- Strength: 37
- Defense: 21
- Experience: 0
This fight takes place while you're flying on the magic carpet, and honestly, it's not the most difficult boss you'll face. You have a few key areas to target: his hands, his stomach, and his head.
Strategy:
- The hands are a bit annoying because they cast spells, but they're best attacked when Jafar is flexing or posing.
- The stomach is your best bet! Attacking it will cause Jafar to keel over, leaving him vulnerable. Important: Don't destroy the stomach too early, or you won't be able to use the "Roll Up" Reaction Command, which stuns him for longer.
- Later in the fight, you'll be teleported to an area where Jafar starts tossing buildings. Just Guard against these until you're sent back.
After you defeat Jafar, you'll get the [WISHING LAMP] Keyblade. Nice!
100 Acre Wood
If you've been keeping up with your visits to the 100 Acre Wood, now's the perfect time to tackle the very last chapter. Head over there.
Christmas Time!
Once you're in Halloween Town, head into the factory. Go up the ramp, and you'll find Lock, Shock, and Barrel. You'll need to drain their HP first, and then "Capture" them one by one. Be careful – if you don't drain their HP completely, they can pop out of their KO state and get back up.
BONUS:
- Item Slot (Sora)
- HP +4 (Donald)
