Complete walkthrough for the UNC: Missing Marines assignment in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Learn how to start the mission, defeat the Thresher Maw, and find the missing marines.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin the Assignment:
- Speak to Admiral Kahoku on the Citadel, located to the left of the stairs leading to the Council Chambers, after exposing Saren and becoming a Spectre. Agree to help him.
- 2Alternatively, Captain Anderson may direct you to Kahoku if you ask him about Banes after completing the Doctor Michel Assignment.
- 3You can also initiate the assignment by traveling to the Sparta System in the Artemis Tau cluster and approaching the planet Edolus to receive a distress call.
- 4Distress Call and Thresher Maw:
- Travel to the Sparta System in the Artemis Tau Cluster and land on the planet Edolus.
- 5Open your map and locate the Distress Signal to the north. Save your game before approaching.
- 6Upon approaching the signal, you will be attacked by a Thresher Maw. Keep your distance from the Mako, as direct hits are nearly fatal.
- 7The Thresher Maw attacks by spitting acid (dodge by jumping while stationary) or by burrowing and sending out Sensory Tentacles (drive at speed to defeat tentacles while avoiding the Maw).
- 8Thresher Maw Trick: If you drive far enough away from the Thresher Maw, it will retreat underground and wait for you to approach again, without its Sensory Tentacles. Its health will remain the same, allowing you to avoid the tentacle attack.
- 9After defeating the Thresher Maw, proceed to the pile of bodies and examine one to discover they were lured by the distress signal.
- 10Return to the Citadel:
- Return to the Citadel and report your findings to Admiral Kahoku to complete the assignment.
Tips
- Save your game before approaching the distress signal to prepare for the Thresher Maw encounter.
- Utilize the trick of driving away from the Thresher Maw to avoid its Sensory Tentacle attack.
- Keep moving in the Mako to avoid the Thresher Maw's acid spit.
