Alright, so you're on Feros and you've just dealt with that initial Geth ambush near Zhu's Hope. Good job! After things calm down, you'll want to chat with Fai Dan again. He'll point you towards Davin Reynolds, who's hanging out in a freighter nearby. Davin's got a job for you: the colony needs meat, but there's an Alpha Varren causing trouble in the tunnels. Your mission is to take it down so they can get back to sourcing their own food.

Walkthrough

Head north out of Zhu's Hope. Don't worry about the elevator to the Prothean Skyway just yet. Keep going to the end of the path and take the stairs down into the tunnels.

Once you're in the tunnels, take a right at the first intersection. Follow that path, and at the next intersection, go west. This will lead you into the Collapsed Highway Section.

You'll trigger a short cutscene introducing the regular Varren. Now, here's a little trick: when you get ambushed right after the scene, you can actually back up into the doorway you came from. The Varren won't follow you there, giving you a safe spot to deal with them. Shotguns are pretty effective here since the Varren are fast and tend to charge. Keep your Biotics ready too, just in case they don't recharge in time.

After you've dealt with the smaller Varren, the Alpha Varren will show up. You'll need to defeat it to complete the objective.

Once the Alpha Varren is down, head back to Zhu's Hope and report to Davin Reynolds. This will wrap up the Assignment.

Tips

Having Biotics that can disable enemies is super helpful for crowd control when you're ambushed.
Don't be afraid to use the environment to your advantage, like backing into doorways to create a temporary safe zone.
Shotguns really shine against these charging enemies if your Biotics are on cooldown.
