Deploy in the M35 Mako, a powerful vehicle that can easily defeat most enemies and ignore XP penalties for staying inside. Drive north, following the path and turning south when necessary. Avoid lava pools.

A geth dropship will deploy two Geth Armatures. These tank-like enemies shoot energy discharges. Dodge their attacks by observing their firing patterns and adjusting the Mako's position.

Take a side route to reach the interior of the Refinery. Demolish the geth guarding the area with the Mako.

Continue to a narrow pass leading to the Refinery. If you go west, you'll find three Geth Heavy Turrets that fire powerful rockets. The Mako can destroy them, though the narrow confines make it tricky.

To enter the Refinery, take a side passage to the north that wraps around west. Defeat another Geth Heavy Turret in the pass.

On the Refinery grounds, you will encounter a Geth Juggernaut, a Geth Destroyer, Geth Shock Troopers, and Geth Rocket Troopers. The Mako can handle most of these, but you may need to disembark to clear the gatehouse and open the gate.

Northern of the two eastern buildings: Find an Upgrade Kit.

Southern of the two eastern buildings: Find a Geth Rocket Trooper, a Storage Locker [Easy], and a “Gate Control”.

Behind a wall along the southern end of the Refinery: Find two Crates.

Eastern of the two northern buildings: Empty, but find a Locked Crate [Easy] just south of it.

Western of the two northern buildings: Find a Geth Shock Trooper, a Weapon Locker [Easy], and a “Gate Control”. Activate this to open the northern gate.

Once the northern gate is open, re-enter the Mako and proceed north along the linear path from the Refinery.

Scrap two Geth Armatures along the way.

When the path turns west, a geth dropship will appear. Shoot down two more Geth Armatures.

Turn southwest to find a pass with Geth Rocket Troopers, followed by a Geth Colossus, a larger and more dangerous version of the Armatures. Destroy them.

Continue up a ramp into a tunnel, then emerge to mow down two Geth Rocket Troopers.

Proceed until you find another tunnel with two more Geth Rocket Troopers. Emerge from this tunnel into the “Ruins” part of Therum.

Drive until you reach a roadblock that forces you to leave the Mako.

Press on through the gap in the rocks to make your way towards Liara’s Dig Site.

Tips:
