Assisting Kirrahe's Team

Alright, so you're on Virmire and it's time to help out Captain Kirrahe and his team. This is an optional assignment, but it's a good one for earning some extra Paragon points and, more importantly, ensuring Kirrahe makes it through this mission alive. Let's break down what you need to do.

Communications Tower

Right after you start the Base Approach section on Virmire, you'll see the Communications Tower just to the northwest. Your first objective here is to clear out the geth. You'll run into a mix of standard Troopers, Shock Troopers, a Sniper, and even a Geth Destroyer. Take them all down.

Once the area is clear, head up the ramp to the upper level of the tower. You'll find a Weapon Locker here, so grab any goodies. Then, interact with the Triangulation Tower console. It doesn't really change anything in the grand scheme of things, but you'll get some positive feedback from Kirrahe and earn Paragon +2.

Satellite Uplink Tower

Next up is the Satellite Uplink Tower, located in the middle of the Base Approach map. You'll likely pass it on your way towards Saren's main base anyway. Expect more geth resistance here, and this time they've brought a Krogan Warrior with them. If he starts charging at you, use your biotics to freeze him in place, then focus fire to take him down.

After you've dealt with the enemies, look for the Satellite Uplink structure on the roof. If it wasn't destroyed during the fight, you can take it out with your weapons. Doing this will net you another Paragon +2 and more praise from Kirrahe, though again, it doesn't impact the mission's outcome.

Refueling Platform

This is the most critical objective for keeping Kirrahe alive. You'll find the Refueling Platform northwest of the Satellite Uplink Tower. As soon as you get close, you'll see a bunch of geth drones, including Assault and Rocket variants, hovering above the platform. You need to destroy all of them.

As soon as you clear out all the geth flyers, you'll get a notification confirming your success, and you'll earn a significant Paragon +8. This is the *only* thing that matters for Kirrahe's survival. If you take out these drones, he lives. If you don't, well...

Base Alarm

This is the final part of the assignment, and you can't miss it. When you reach the entrances to Saren's base, you'll find a Security Console. Interacting with it gives you a choice: you can either send the guards inside the base to reinforce Kirrahe's position, or you can leave them be and deal with them yourself.

This decision mainly affects your Paragon/Renegade score. If you choose to send the guards to Kirrahe, making his job harder, you'll earn Renegade +9. If you decide to take on the guards yourself, you'll get Paragon +8.
