Talent Point Allocation

Weapon Talents

Wrex can use both Assault Rifles and Shotguns. Invest five ranks into Assault Rifles to unlock Shotguns, which is the maximum recommended investment for Assault Rifles. Wrex excels with shotguns, making him a formidable frontline fighter, especially when paired with a sniper like Garrus.

Combat Armor

As the only non-Soldier with access to Combat Armor, Wrex benefits greatly from it. Invest four ranks to unlock Fitness and seven ranks to gain access to heavy armor. Maxing out Combat Armor on higher difficulties is crucial for Wrex's survivability.

Fitness and Biotic Talents

While Wrex's non-combat talents are less impactful than his weapon and armor skills, Fitness is still useful. Invest four ranks in Fitness and use the Immunity talent reflexively when Wrex's health drops below 50% for an excellent safety net. For biotics, Lift is the most valuable, followed by Throw. Stasis can remove enemies from combat but Wrex won't use it autonomously. Barrier is a decent addition but less critical than heavy armor and Immunity. To unlock Stasis, you need six ranks in Barrier, and to unlock Throw, seven ranks in Warp. Warp's 75% damage reduction debuff at max level is highly effective. For Krogan Battlemaster, one rank early on provides regeneration and melee bonuses.

Best Gear for Wrex

Weapons

The best weapons are tier X Spectre weapons: HMWA X for assault rifles and HMWSG X for shotguns. Use Tungsten Rounds VII against geth and drones, Shredder Rounds VII for most other enemies, or Inferno Rounds X for simplicity. Equip a Scram Rail X and Frictionless Materials X.

Armor

While Colossus X armor is generally top-tier, Wrex's unique Battlemaster X Heavy Armor is superior. It offers 75 Damage Protection, excellent Tech/Biotic Protection, and comparable Shields. If Battlemaster X is unavailable, a medium/heavy Colossus armor suit is a good substitute. Slotting Medical Exoskeletons into his armor improves regeneration and talent cooldowns.

Ammunition

For ammunition, consider Tungsten Rounds VII for geth and drones, Shredder Rounds VII for general use, or Inferno Rounds X for ease. Upgrade these with Scram Rail X and Frictionless Materials X.
