After the Citadel, explore the Normandy for Codex Entries and choose your next mission. Get Paragon/Renegade points by talking to your crew!
Alright, you've made it back to the Normandy after all that Citadel business. Before you go off exploring the galaxy, there are a few things to take care of right here on your ship. Think of it as a little breather and a chance to beef up your Codex – and your reputation!
First things first, let's get some Codex entries. Scan the docked ship for the Normandy Weapons and Normandy Hull. Once you're aboard, Joker will ask you to give a speech. You've got three options: uplifting and conciliatory, brash and xenophobic, or just brief. Going with the first two will net you Paragon +4 or Renegade +4 respectively. Just pick what feels right for your Commander Shepard!
Now, let's hunt down those Codex Entries. To the left of Joker, you'll find a prompt to "Look Outside." After that, chat with Joker and exhaust all his dialogue options – that'll snag you more entries. Keep an eye out near the Galaxy Map too; just approaching it will unlock another entry.
Codex Entries to Find:
- Primary - Weapons, Armor and Equipment / Mass Accelerators
- Secondary - Ships and Vehicles / Weapons: Ablative Armor
- Secondary - Planets and Locations / Stations: Arcturus Station
- Secondary - Ships and Vehicles / FTL Drive: Appearance
- Primary - Citadel and Galactic Government / Citadel Space
- Secondary - Humanity and the Systems Alliance / Human Diplomatic Relations
Head down to the CIC and have a word with Navigator Pressly. If you want to rack up some more points, choose the dialogue options _"They're on our side."_ for Paragon +2 and _"You doubt my decision?"_ for Renegade +2. Exhaust his dialogue for another Codex Entry.
Make your way down to the Quarters level. Examine a "Sleeper Pod" for an entry, then head into the Captain's Office and investigate the "Personnel Manual" screen for yet another. Finally, ride the elevator down to Engineering. Here you can chat with Garrus, Wrex, and Tali – all of whom have Codex Entries for you. Don't forget Engineer Adams; he's got one too!
More Codex Entries:
- Primary - Technology / Computers: Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Primary - Ships and Vehicles / FTL Drive
- Primary - Ships and Vehicles / Military Ship Classifications
- Secondary - Citadel and Galactic Government / Citadel Station: Citadel Security Services (C-Sec)
- Secondary - Aliens: Non-Council Races / Krogan: Genophage
- Secondary - Aliens: Non-Council Races / Krogan: Krogan Rebellions
- Secondary - Aliens: Non-Council Races / Quarian: Government
Phew! That's a lot of Codex entries. Now that you've tidied up on the Normandy, you've got a galaxy to explore. You can head back to the Citadel to check out the Citadel Exploration page for more assignments and XP, or you can dive straight into one of the three main missions:
- Find Liara T’Soni (Therum)
- Noveria: Geth Interest (Noveria)
- Feros: Geth Attack (Feros)
If you're looking for the easiest start, Therum is generally considered the best first step. It's got some straightforward vehicle sections and leads to recruiting your sixth and final squadmate. But honestly, you can tackle them in any order you like!
You'll also find more Codex Entries scattered throughout the galaxy by scanning planets and anomalies, including:
- Primary - Aliens: Non-Sapient Creatures / Thresher Maws
- Secondary - Aliens: Council Races / Salarians: League of One
- Secondary - Aliens: Council Races / Turians: The Unification Wars
- Secondary - Aliens: Extinct Races / Protheans: Data Disks
- Secondary - Humanity and the Systems Alliance / Geological Survey
