The Bazelgeuse is a Flying Wyvern known for its explosive scale attacks, often invading hunts before a dedicated quest is available. It appears in High Rank expeditions, optional quests, and investigations. Players will first encounter a specific quest for it, "Bazelgeuse in the Field of Fire," after reaching the Elder’s Recess. Bazelgeuse Strengths and Weaknesses

The Bazelgeuse is most vulnerable to damage on its head, tail, and wings. The head takes the most damage from all attack types. The tail is also a significant weak point and can be severed. The wings are more receptive to Ammo damage than Cut or Blunt damage. The head, wings, and body can be broken.

Bazelgeuse is weak to Thunder and resistant to Fire. Poison, Sleep, and Paralysis are more effective ailments than Blast or Stun.

Bazelgeuse Attacks

The Bazelgeuse primarily attacks using explosive scales, often detonating them with its body or fiery breath. It has four clusters of explosive scales: two under each wing, one on its neck, and one on its tail. Severing the tail reduces the number of scales it can deploy.

Common attacks include dropping scales from its neck or tail and then charging, slamming its head, or striking with its tail to cause explosions. It also performs standard Flying Wyvern attacks like charges, tail sweeps (with added explosive scales), leaps followed by ground slams, and side rushes. Its fire breath is short-ranged and mainly used to detonate scales.

The Bazelgeuse's most dangerous attack, earning it the nickname "B-52," involves it flying in a line, shedding scales, circling back, and diving to slide over the dropped scales, causing a chain reaction of explosions. This attack is difficult to track due to the simultaneous explosions. Using Flash Pods while it is airborne can be effective.

When enraged, the Bazelgeuse's scales glow ominously, and its attacks become faster. High Fire Resistance (20+) can mitigate damage from its explosive blasts and prevent the player from being set on fire.
