A Living Fossil

Alright, so you're aiming for that 'A Living Fossil' trophy, huh? This one's a bit of a scavenger hunt, tied to the Piscine Researcher. You'll need to have done all his previous delivery requests in the Ancient Forest, Wildspire Waste, Coral Highlands, Rotten Vale, and Elder's Recess. Once that's done, head back to the Rotten Vale and find him again. He'll be hanging out in AREA 9 on the eastern side. Chat him up, and he'll give you one last task: 'Research Help: Capture the Ancient'.

Now, here's the kicker: you won't find this special fish in the Rotten Vale. Remember where you caught that Platinumfish before? Head to the Elder's Recess and make your way to the Eastern Camp (AREA 8). From there, make your way to the pool to the east. Keep an eye on the northern part of this pool. You're looking for a rather large fish with bright blue spots – that's your Petricanths! It can be a bit tricky to spot, sometimes obscured by crystals or just far out, but if it's there, you'll know it. Reel that prehistoric beauty in, and that trophy is yours!
