    Research Help: Goldenfish Capture
    1. Descend to the Forgotten Vale (AREA ) to find the Piscine Researcher.

    Travel to the Central Camp in the Rotten Vale and head north, then west to AREA 10.

    From AREA 10, head south through a hole to reach caves (AREA 15).

    Find a pool of water southwest of the hole you crawled through; Goldenfish dwell here.

    1. Head to the northern part of AREA 1 to find the Endemic Life Researcher.
    2. Capture five Scavantula specimens.
    3. Scavantulas can be found in AREA 4, the Radobaan’s lair. Be wary of Hornetaurs.
    4. Scavantulas are skittish; if they flee, move to a different area and return.
    5. Report back to the Endemic Life Researcher, who will direct you to the Resource Center in Astera.
  • Purchasing Plunderers
    1. Make your way to AREA 14 (the Odogaron’s lair) to find the Lynian Researcher.
    2. Head back east to AREA 10, then south into the caverns (AREA 15) where the Goldenfish pond is located.
    3. Find the Grimalkyne in a chamber to the northwest; it will flee.
    4. Move away from where it fled (consider climbing a ledge to the south) and press [X]/[A] to crouch.
    5. When your Palico indicates the Grimalkyne has returned, approach it again.
    6. Leave a piece of Raw Meat in the middle of the chamber.
    7. Crouch on the ledge to the south and wait for the Grimalkyne and its friends to arrive.
    8. Approach them, and they will stay to chat.
    9. One of the Plunderer Grimalkynes will join you and give you the Plunderblade Palico tool.
    10. Report to the Lynian Researcher.

    • Goldenfish are skittish; do not bob your bait when fishing.
    • Scavantulas are skittish; capture them quickly or they may flee.
    • When trying to befriend the Plunderer Grimalkynes, use Raw Meat as bait and crouch to wait for them.
