Alright, hunter! We're diving into a tough one: the Pink Rathian. Think of it as a souped-up regular Rathian, hitting way harder and using its tail like it's got a personal vendetta. Don't let the fancy color fool you; this beast means business.

Hunt - Pink Rathian

First off, let's look at what this thing is weak to and what it resists. Knowing this will save you a lot of trouble.

As you can see, Dragon element is your best friend here. Fire is its favorite, so don't bother bringing fire-based gear. It also loves to inflict status effects, so be ready for that.

It's particularly susceptible to Stun, which can give you some much-needed breathing room. Poison, Sleep, and Blast are also effective, but not as much as Stun.

Now, about the fight itself. The Pink Rathian shares most of its moveset with the regular Rathian, but cranked up to eleven. Expect its signature triple fireball and those annoying 'pace-back-and-forth' attacks, but the real kicker is its tail. It spams its spinning tail lash attacks like there's no tomorrow, and they hit HARD. It's also way more aggressive, flying around and attacking constantly. Your best bet is to be patient, position yourself well, and only go for safe, quick hits when you see an opening.

You can break its head, wings, and tail, and even sever the tail. The head takes the most damage, so aim there if you can. The wings and tail are also good targets, but avoid hitting the arms, legs, or body if possible.

After you've dealt with the Pink Rathian, you'll head back to Astera. The Admiral will show up with news of a strange new region and some intriguing crystals. You, along with The Handler, will be tasked with investigating it further. But before you jump into that, there are a few things to sort out in Astera.

First, you'll need to earn the right to take on seven-star assignments. This usually involves completing certain quests or hunts, so keep an eye on your quest log.

Astera Preparations

Before heading out to the new region, make sure you take care of a few things in Astera. You can now upgrade your armor even further, which will be a big help. Also, check for new delivery requests and quests around town – it's always good to clear out those exclamation points!

Ancient But Fresh!

Head to the Resource Center. They'll give you a delivery request called Ancient But Fresh!. You need to gather a Grand Gajau Whisker and 800 Research Points. You can get the whisker from hunting Gajau, so an investigation or an expedition to the Wildspire Waste to hunt them should do the trick.

Your Storage Solution

Next, find the Laid-back Botanist near the Botanical Research station. They'll ask for your help with a delivery request called Your Storage Solution. You'll need to find a Torrent Sac and 1,000 Research Points. Torrent Sacs are an uncommon reward from hunting Jyuratodus.

New Items

Finally, check the man at the Provisions Stockpile. He'll tell you about two new items for sale: the Cool Drink and Gunpowder Level 3. The Cool Drink might be useful for the new region, but you can also craft them. Gunpowder Level 3 is great for bowgun users.
