Learn about Monster Train energy: capacity, how moves use energy, and how Recharge and Dodge restore it.

Your monster's current energy is displayed in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)). If your monster does not have enough energy for a specific move, that move will be blacked out. To restore energy, you must use the torso moves Recharge or Dodge. All torsos possess these two moves.

Recharge restores all of your monster's energy but leaves it open to attack. Dodge restores a small amount of energy and also dodges enemy attacks.

Tips
  • Always keep an eye on your current energy in the upper right corner of the HUD to avoid having crucial moves blacked out.
  • Consider the trade-offs between Recharge (full restore, high risk) and Dodge (partial restore, defensive benefit) based on the current combat situation.
  • The torso you choose directly impacts your monster's maximum energy capacity.
