Hey there! So, you're looking to get your hands on some special items that you can trade for even better stuff, right? It's a pretty neat system in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, especially for getting those evolutionary stones. Let's break down where to find these goodies and what you can get for them.

Blue Shard — You can trade this to a hunter on Route 124 for a Water Stone. Keep an eye out for these on Route 124 itself, or if you're feeling lucky, try using the move Thief or Covet on a wild Clamperl. They might just have one!

Green Shard — This one's for a Leaf Stone, also traded with the hunter on Route 124. You can find Green Shards on Route 126, or try your luck using Thief/Covet on a wild Relicanth.

Heart Scale — These are super important! You can give them to the move tutor in Fallarbor Town. If your Pokémon forgot a move it learned by leveling up, this is how you get it back. The best way to snag a Heart Scale is by using Thief/Covet on a wild Luvdisc. Don't worry, they're pretty common on Luvdisc, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.

Red Shard — Another trade for the hunter on Route 124, this time for a Fire Stone. You can find Red Shards on Route 124, or try using Thief/Covet on a wild Corsola.

Yellow Shard — This shard gets you a Thunderstone from the hunter on Route 124. Look for them on Route 124, or use Thief/Covet on a wild Chinchou.

Shoal Salt & Shoal Shell — These are a bit more involved! You'll need to head to the Shoal Cave. You need to collect four Shoal Salts and four Shoal Shells. The tricky part is that you can only get the Shoal Salts during Low Tide and the Shoal Shells during High Tide. Once you have all eight items (four of each), take them to the man in Shoal Cave, and he'll give you a Shell Bell. It's a bit of a scavenger hunt, but the Shell Bell is totally worth it!

Pro Tip: Having a Pokémon with the Thief or Covet move is incredibly useful for farming these shards and Heart Scales. Just remember that Thief can fail if the wild Pokémon is already holding an item, but Covet will always work if they have something!
