Navigate Route 106 and the treacherous Granite Cave in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Find trainers, catch Pokémon like Abra and Makuhita, and get HM05 Flash.
Walkthrough
- 1On Route 106, you will encounter two trainers: Fisherman Ned and Fisherman Elliot.
- 2Continue west on Route 106 until you find an opening to the Granite Cave.
- 3Enter the Granite Cave and speak to the man near the entrance to receive HM05, Flash.
- 4Note: To use Flash outside of battle, you need the Knuckle Badge from Brawly in Dewford Town.
- 5Head west, then down the ladder into a dark area of the cave. Use Flash to illuminate the area.
- 6Continue north and you'll find a sand slope that requires the Mach Bike to traverse.
- 7Head south from the slope to find a Poké Ball.
- 8Return north and proceed east to another ladder. Climb it.
- 9In this new room, go west to find a higher ledge. Use the nearby stairs to ascend.
- 10Go all the way east on the higher ledge to find a ladder. Climb it.
- 11Take the next ladder you find.
- 12From here, travel south and west to find another ladder. Take it.
- 13You will find Steven in this small room. Give him the letter he is looking for.
- 14Steven will give you TM47, Steel Wing, and register his name on your Pokégear.
- 15Backtrack out of Granite Cave.
Tips
- Flash is a move that lowers the opponent's accuracy. While not essential for battle, it's needed to see in darker areas of Granite Cave. Abra is a good Pokémon to teach Flash to, or catch one in the cave if needed.
- Consider catching Makuhita. It evolves into Hariyama, which has high HP and Attack.
- Zubat evolves into Golbat and then Crobat, which has high speed and can learn Fly.
- Geodude is a Rock/Ground type with good HP and Attack/Defense, but low Special Defense and Speed. It evolves into Graveler and then Golem.
- Aron is a Rock/Steel type that evolves into Lairon and then Aggron. It also has high Attack and Defense but low Speed. Geodude or Aron are recommended additions to your team.
- TM47 Steel Wing is a strong Steel-type move suitable for Flying-type Pokémon.
