Your expert guide to conquering Jagged Pass in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire! Discover wild Pokémon, defeat trainers, and find hidden paths with our walkthrough.

Alright, let's talk about Jagged Pass! This is another route where you'll be doing a bit of navigating, and you'll encounter some new Pokémon and trainers. Pay attention to the ledges here, as they can be a bit tricky if you're not careful.

Pokémon you'll find here:

  • Numel (Very Common)
  • Machop (Common)
  • Spoink (Common)

Spoink is the new face in this area. It evolves into Grumpig, a Psychic-type. It's got decent special attack and special defense, but its HP, defense, and speed are a bit lacking. Whether you want to catch one is totally up to you, as there are other Psychic-types you can get later on.

Trainers to watch out for:

  • Hiker Eric: Geodude (Lv. 20), Baltoy (Lv. 20) - Earn $800
  • Picnicker Diana: Shroomish (Lv. 19), Oddish (Lv. 19), Swablu (Lv. 19) - Match Call Trainer
  • Camper Ethan: Zigzagoon (Lv. 20), Taillow (Lv. 20) - Earn $320 - Match Call Trainer
  • Picnicker Autumn: Shroomish (Lv. 21)
  • Triathlete Julio: Magnemite (Lv. 21) - Note: You can jump off the ledge between Autumn and Julio for a team battle, netting you $1176!
  • Team Magma Grunt: Poochyena (Lv. 22), Numel (Lv. 22) - Earn $440
Walkthrough
  1. 1
When you first enter Jagged Pass, head south and take on Hiker Eric.
  2. 2
Continue south and you'll come across a couple of ledges. Jump off the first two, then use the steps to get down two more ledges.
  3. 3
You'll finally reach a Team Magma Grunt. Battle him! After the fight, he'll mention a hideout. Remember this spot; it'll be important later.
  4. 4
Now, head south and jump off the next ledge.
  5. 5
Walk west and battle the trainer you find there.
  6. 6
From here, you have a choice: jump off the left ledge to find wild Pokémon, or jump off the right ledge for a double battle. If you have the Acro Bike, you can actually access both by jumping over the ledges. I'd recommend the double battle on the right if you're unsure.
  7. 7
After that, jump off the next ledge. You'll find a patch of grass that's pretty easy to access.
  8. 8
Battle the last trainer at the bottom of this area.
  9. 9
Finally, head down the steps onto the main ground and leave Jagged Pass.

Keep an eye out for those ledges, and you'll navigate Jagged Pass like a pro!
