Sootopolis City Crisis

Navigate the Sootopolis City Crisis in Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire! Learn how to bypass Groudon and Kyogre, find Steven, and discover the path to the Cave of Origin and Sky Pillar.

Alright, so you've made it to Sootopolis City! Don't worry, we're only here for a little bit, so we can skip the usual Pokemart stuff. As soon as you enter, you'll see Groudon and Kyogre going at it. It's a bit anticlimactic, honestly – they just kind of wiggle. They won't bother you, so just surf straight north towards the Gym.

You'll find Archie and Maxie blocking the Gym entrance, just chilling and watching the show. Don't worry about them. Instead, surf to the left side of the city. You'll find Steven there. Chat with him for a bit, and he'll tell you about the Cave of Origin. He'll get the old man guarding it to let you through, but then he leaves you to handle the real problem.

Head into the Cave of Origin. Make your way to the other side and go through the opening. In the next room, you'll see a ladder on the far side. Climb down it, and you'll meet Wallace. He'll explain that you need to go to the Sky Pillar to wake up a third Legendary Pokémon that can stop this whole mess. After that, you'll head back outside, and Steven will admit he has no idea where the Sky Pillar is. Don't sweat it, I'll tell you the quickest way to get there.

Your next destination is the Sky Pillar. The fastest way is to Fly to Mossdeep City. Once you're there, make your way to Route 127. From Route 127, surf all the way south until you reach Route 128. I'll meet you there to guide you through the rest!
