Follow our guide to find Star 3, Treasure of the Ocean Cave, in Jolly Roger Bay! Learn the correct chest order to grab the Power Star.

Alright, for Star 3 in Jolly Roger Bay, we're heading back into the water! Jump in and swim down to where that big sunken ship used to be. You're looking for a tunnel that was behind the ship. If you're having trouble spotting it, there's a ring of eight coins right in front of the entrance, which should help you out.

Once you find the tunnel, swim all the way up through it. You'll pop out of the water into a new area. You'll see a sign here warning you about what's to come – sounds ominous, right?

Head into the cave and take a left. You can fight the Goombas if you want, but they're not essential. Your main goal is to get through this cave. Keep an eye out for those pillars that are going to try and fall and squash you! Just push through this section until you find a round platform. There are four chests sitting on it, and this is where our Power Star is hiding!

Just like with the first star in this course, you can't just open these chests willy-nilly. You need to open them in a specific order to get the star. Don't worry, I've got the diagram right here for you:

Chest Order Diagram
/\
/ \
/[##]\<- open this chest first
/ \
/ \
open this chest second ->/[##] [##]\<- open this chest third
\ /
\ /
\ /
[SIGNPOST] \[##]/<- open this chest last
\ /
\/

Follow that order, and after you open the very last chest, the Power Star will pop out right into the middle of the platform. Just swim over and grab it to complete the mission!
