Navigate Part 5 of the Deus Ex walkthrough, covering infiltration of the Statue via the UNATCO informant or a back entrance. Includes enemy encounters, item locations, and key codes.
Walkthrough
- 1Enter the UNATCO Antenna Shaft. In a crate, find an EMP GRENADE, useful for disabling electronic security and robots.
- 2Your mission is to find a way into the Statue. Two paths are available: find the UNATCO informant or sneak around the back. This guide covers the informant path first, then the back entrance.
- 3Head for the North Docks, using Paul's map. You'll pass the Statue entrance, guarded by NSF grunts and a security bot.
- 4To sneak past enemies near the Statue entrance, keep to the left wall's shadows. Alex will warn you about defenses.
- 5Near the Statue's stone walls, find a metal crate. On top is a PEPPER GUN with ammo, a PROD CHARGER, and a DataCube with the Statue's security login: NSF001/SMASHTHESTATE.
- 6A lone NSF terrorist patrols the area. You can silently take him down with a Baton or Riot Prod by observing his patrol route, crawling near him, and using a melee attack to the lower back for a one-hit knockout (OHKO).
- 7Deal with the patrolling bot. Use the EMP Grenade to disable it if caught in the blast radius. If you have the GEP gun, you can destroy it. Otherwise, avoid it as it's too powerful for the 10mm pistol. Note that GEP explosions attract nearby NSF; wait for them to disperse. The EMP grenade is superior if you can hit the bot.
- 8If the bot is dealt with, go Northeast to find a Terminal. Avoid the camera. Use NSF001/SMASHTHESTATE to access it and turn off two cameras. Disable nearby turrets by setting them to 'Bypassed'. Near the entrance, find two FLARES and a crate with a LOCKPICK. Be wary of the NSF soldier inside this area.
- 9To the West, there's a square stone building. Inside, a locked chest contains 30.06 AMMO and a 100 CREDIT CHIT. This chest can be unlocked later.
- 10Northeast of the stone building is a dark pathway guarded by an NSF marksman with a sniper rifle. Enemies with sniper rifles have long lines of sight. Sneak up on him from behind and take him down. You'll find a SNIPER RIFLE (or 30.06 AMMO if you already have one) and TECH GOGGLES.
- 11Ahead is the entrance to the North Docks. To the West, you can find a sell-sword carrying TRANQUILIZER DARTS.
- 12At the North Docks, loot the UNATCO corpse for 3 FLARES and CIGARETTES. Two NSF members patrol the area; sneak past, disable, or kill them. Two crates contain 4 ROCKETS and 30.06 AMMO. A crate at the Northeastern end holds a MEDKIT.
- 13Find a shack containing UNATCO informant Filben. He will give you the STATUE RUIN NANOKEY if you promise to keep the NSF commander alive. You will also receive 150 Skill Points (SP) for finding Harley Filben.
- 14Inside the shack, find a CROWBAR, a COMBAT KNIFE, 5 FLARES, and a FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
- 15A Drifter Woman in the corner sells: 30.06 AMMO (300 credits), 10MM AMMO (175 credits), and DARTS (50 credits).
- 16Outside the shack, you can enter the water by crouching under a railing.
Tips
- The EMP GRENADE is highly effective against robots and security systems.
- Melee attacks to the lower back with a Baton or Riot Prod can result in a one-hit knockout (OHKO) against unaware enemies.
- Enemies with sniper rifles have very long lines of sight; be cautious.
- The security terminal login is NSF001/SMASHTHESTATE.
- Filben requires a promise to keep the NSF commander alive to give you the STATUE RUIN NANOKEY.
- The game's historical context regarding landmarks and conspiracy theories is noted, with the Statue's closure after 9/11 and symbolism of 'Libertas' being mentioned. C4 is defined as a stable, easily shaped explosive substance.
