Walkthrough
- 1Access the Level 2 Laboratories via the VersaLife entrance using code 06288.
- 2Upon exiting the lift, use the Cloak Augmentation to bypass the two MJ12 Commandos and proceed to the first floor. Disable Cloak and run to the third floor.
- 3Near the laboratory lift, use Cloak again to bypass a Commando. Enter the lift and punch in code 6512 to descend.
- 4Deal with the Model 5 Chiang Arcbot in the hallway. It can be destroyed with a GEP Gun (2 Rockets), an EMP Grenade, or a Spy Drone. It can detect cloaked players.
- 5Bypass the Trooper and Commando, then dive down where another Commando is. Use Cloak to enter the room where the ROM was uploaded.
- 6Cloak past the two Commandos guarding the entrance and any patrolling Trooper in the tube. Enter the elevator using code 55655.
- 7On this floor, find a grate around the corner. Open it and drop down. Daedalus will contact you about a code for the Universal Constructor.
- 8Head North, then Northwest to find a DataCube with code 768. Return Southeast to find a 20% Strength Keypad, which 768 opens. Proceed West through the doors.
- 9Past the fourth door, find a SCRAMBLE GRENADE. Lower the ramp by pushing a button. Turn left twice and locate a grate with a 50% Strength Lock. Ignore it for now.
- 10Crawl past the grate to find a Terminal to the Northwest. The bot and Commando nearby are inaccessible.
- 11Access the Terminal using the login MJ12/SECURITY to disable cameras. Return to the grate, open it with Lockpicks or the Dragon's Tooth, and crawl inside.
- 12Drop down the hole. One MJ12 Commando patrols the area. The "Nonotechnology Researcher" will trigger an alarm, activating Bots. You can shoot them from above, or wait for the Commando to move away, jump down, disable the civilian, and take cover until the Commando's alertness fades before taking him down. He carries a BIOELECTRIC CELL. The scientist carries a MULTITOOL, two BIOELECTRIC CELLS, and a HAZMAT SUIT.
- 13To the West, blue trigger lasers and Bots guard an alternate path; they activate if the alarm sounds or lasers are tripped. South of the computer is a room with items and a Terminal.
- 14If skilled in Computers, hack the Terminal (login MJ12/RESEARCH, though this info is unobtainable) to disable three cameras, open four NanoTech Containment Pods, and raise the Cascade Shutdown Console.
- 15A cabinet with a 60% Strength Lock contains a DataCube, a HAZMAT SUIT, and a BIOELECTRIC CELL. An EMP GRENADE is on top, and a MULTITOOL is on the top shelf. A 'Robot Maintenance' Button in this room can shut down external robots if they were aggravated.
- 16Use the computer with login MCHOW/DAMOCLES or MLUNDQUIST/DAMOCLES. Upload the Virus Schematics and open the UC Chamber. The VersaLife Facility is now under lockdown, and you can only leave by destroying the Universal Constructor.
- 17A passage heads South from the Terminal chamber. Follow it to a ladder and climb down. If Maggie Chow was left alive, a red figure can be seen below. Follow the ramp to the middle room.
Tips
- The Cloak Augmentation is essential for stealthy approaches, especially if aiming for a pacifist run. Be prepared to use around 10 Bioelectric Cells.
- The Model 5 Chiang Arcbot is a significant threat; EMP Grenades or GEP Gun Rockets are effective.
