Detailed guide for Part 28 of Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, covering Shuma-Gorath's Mystic Stare and Chaos Dimension, and Silver Samurai's moveset and combos.

This section details specific mechanics and moves for Shuma-Gorath and Silver Samurai in Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.

Shuma-Gorath Notes:

  • Shuma cannot grab Hyper Armored foes with his Chaos Dimension.
  • If Mystic Stare hits, Shuma's eyes cling to the opponent, flash, and explode for additional damage. Shuma cannot use Mystic Stare again until the eyes explode or are removed (opponent switches out, Shuma is hit, or eyes explode). Maximum range may result in eyes hitting but not sticking. If Shuma switches out, eyes explode for 5 damage.
  • Mystic Stare ranges are reduced: LP version goes just past half-screen, HP version stops just short of full screen. Not all eyes may hit even if the opponent is hit directly. The move now does damage for initial hits, unlike MSHvSF where only blocking dealt damage and eye hits couldn't kill until they exploded.
  • As a Partner Assist or Variable Counter, Mystic Stare will not stick but can hit up to 10 times.
  • During Shuma's Kick Throw, he regains life drained from the opponent, but only red (recoverable) life.
  • When performing Chaos Dimension, Shuma snaps at the opponent and glows. While glowing, his HP and HK attacks become short-range, unblockable 'touch attempts' (standing, crouching, or air). Only touching with HP or HK triggers Chaos Dimension. The 'snap' attack does not trigger it and deals no damage.
  • Shuma remains glowing until time passes or a touch attempt is made. While glowing, he cannot use special moves, and any Mystic Stare eyeballs vanish. LP, LK, MP, and MK attacks remain normal and can be used for combos. Chaos Dimension can finish air combos and Shuma can OTG after it.
  • Tapping buttons and wiggling the joystick during Shuma's HK hold increases damage.

Silver Samurai Moveset:

  • Shuriken: qcf + P (air, direct d/u)
  • Hyakuretsu Tou: f,d,df + P (tap P/K rapidly after start) or Tap P rapidly until move begins.
  • Fumikomi Hyakuretsu Tou: Tap f,f during Hyakuretsu Tou.
  • (endless slashes): Tap LP,LP repeatedly.
  • (low slash): Press HP,HP.
  • Chou Shuriken: qcf + PP (or in air after T. "Kaminari")
  • Raimei Ken: qcf + KK, tap buttons rapidly.
  • Hyouga Ken: qcf + KK after Touki "Koori".
  • Homura Ken: qcf + KK after Touki "Honoo".
  • Touki "Kaminari": qcb + P
  • Touki "Koori": qcb + LK
  • Touki "Honoo": qcb + HK
  • Hyper Hyakuretsu Tou: Performed during a Variable Combination.

Silver Samurai Partner Assists / Variable Counters / Combinations:

  • A: HP Hyakuretsu Tou / HP Hyakuretsu Tou / Hyper Hyakuretsu Tou
  • B: HP Shuriken / HP Shuriken / Chou Shuriken
  • Y: Crouching HP / Crouching HP / Raimei/Hyouga/Homura Ken

Silver Samurai Combo Information:

  • Chain Combo Type: [Ground 2] [Jumping 2] [Super Jumping 6] [Ground 6 / Jumping 6 during Touki "Kaminari"]
  • A.Rave Launchers: [Crouching HP] [df + HP]
  • A.Rave Finishers: HP, HK, Shuriken, Chou Shuriken (in Kaminari mode)
  • Ground Throws: Close, b / f + HP / HK
  • Mid-Air Throws: Close, any dir. but d / u + HK in air
  • Flying Attack: Standing HK / Crouching MK / Low Slash
  • Knockdown Attack: Crouching HK
  • Variable Attack: Jumping LK
  • Snapback Attack: Standing MK

Silver Samurai Move Notes:

  • Shuriken hits fewer times from further away, unless in a 'Touki' mode.
  • Shuriken and Chou Shuriken can be directed up/down (even in air). Useful for hitting opponents who can duck under them, or for combos (e.g., crouching HK, downward Shuriken). Letting go of the controller makes Shuriken fly forward.
  • Shuriken and Chou Shuriken can be destroyed by opponent's normal attacks or projectiles.
  • Hyakuretsu Tou can be initiated by f,d,df + P or rapid P taps. Tapping P/K after start adds more slashes. Dashing is possible with f,f.
  • Endless Slashes: Pressing LP during the first LP animation results in an MP attack. Waiting for the animation to end and pressing LP again performs a different-looking LP slash. Both do the same damage.
