Learn how to unlock and master Meownster Hunters in Monster Hunter Generations! Send your Palicos on expeditions to gather rare materials and monster parts.

Meownster Hunters is a neat little system in Monster Hunter Generations that lets your Palicos do the heavy lifting when it comes to gathering materials. Think of it as sending your feline buddies out on a scavenger hunt on your behalf. You won't have access to it right away, though. Keep plugging away at your village quests until a certain character, d’Artanyan, gives you the green light to start sending your cats out.

It's a pretty fun and surprisingly easy minigame that can net you all sorts of goodies: basic gatherable materials, monster parts (sometimes!), and those ever-useful scraps. You'll unlock more areas to send your Palicos to as you progress through the game and unlock more hunting grounds. The more stars an area has, the better your chances are for getting more loot.

When you're selecting an area, keep an eye out for special indicators. A Warning sign means there's a high concentration of big monsters roaming around, which might mean tougher challenges but potentially better rewards. A Rare indicator means you've got a great shot at snagging some rarer, more valuable items. You can send up to four Palicos on each expedition. Once you've picked your crew and your destination, you'll launch them using a cannon. Yep, a cannon! Totally not animal cruelty, right?

The circles your cats zoom through as you launch them are actually areas they can gather from. However, the circle they ultimately land in will have the biggest impact on what you bring back. If you spot a rare area while you're lining up your shot with the cannon – it'll fade in when you're hovering over it, but not at any other time – do your absolute best to aim for it. Your cats can actually bounce off the edges of the screen, so if a prime spot seems tricky to reach, try increasing the launch power and adjusting your angle to get a ricochet bounce. After you've sent them off, just complete a quest or two, and your hardworking Palicos will return with their haul.

Important Note: Palicos with very low Enthusiasm won't be able to join in on the Meownster Hunters expeditions. Make sure your feline friends are feeling peppy before you send them out!
