How to Beat Miraidon, the Guardian of Paradise (Violet)

Alright, so you've made it to the end of the main story in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and now you're facing off against Miraidon, the Guardian of Paradise! It feels a bit unfair, right? Don't worry, I've got your back. When the game prompts you, just select "Pokémon" from your menu and choose your own Miraidon. Your buddy will transform into its battle form, and that's when the real fight kicks off!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• The opposing Miraidon's Hadron Engine ability activates Electric Terrain, boosting Special Attack for both Miraidons.
• Its signature move, Electro Drift, deals very little damage (about a quarter) to itself.
• It can use Taunt to stop you from using non-attacking moves like Endure.
• It uses Charge to boost its Special Defense.
• Power Gem deals decent damage.
• Hyper Beam hits hard but requires a recharge turn.

Phases:

1. Opening Moves: The fight starts with Electric Terrain active. Avoid using Electro Drift. Stick to Power Gem or Tera Blast. These moves will chip away about 1/10 of the opponent's health each time.
2. Hyper Beam Threat: When the opposing Miraidon uses Hyper Beam, brace yourself. You'll be knocked down to 1 HP! However, this is a crucial turning point. On the next turn, your Miraidon's Special Attack gets a massive boost (2 stages), and the opponent is immobile.
3. Recovery and Setup: If you took damage from Hyper Beam and didn't use Power Gem or Tera Blast on every single turn, now's the time to heal up with a Max Potion or Full Restore. If you've been consistent with your attacks, just skip healing and use Power Gem or Tera Blast again.
4. The Final Push: On the turn after the Hyper Beam, your Tera Orb will be fully charged. This is your cue to Terastallize your Miraidon! Use Tera Blast. With the Tera boost and the super-effective damage, your Miraidon should outspeed and knock out the opponent. Just a heads-up: if you slacked off on using Power Gem or Tera Blast consistently, you might be a little short of a KO, so be prepared for that.

Strategy:

• Focus on using Power Gem or Tera Blast throughout the fight.
• Be ready to heal after being hit by Hyper Beam, but only if you haven't been consistently attacking.
• Save your Terastallize for the final turn when your stats are boosted after the opponent uses Hyper Beam.
• Use Tera Blast after Terastallizing for the knockout blow.
