How to Beat Tyme (Academy Ace Tournament)

The Academy Ace Tournament is a postgame single-elimination tournament featuring trainers and faculty from Naranja/Uva Academy. To unlock it, complete the Area Zero story and report the results to Geeta.

Tyme's team is composed of Rock-type Pokémon, with levels ranging from 65 to 66. It's recommended to use Pokémon Level 66 or higher. Effective types against Tyme's team include Grass, Water, Fighting, Ground, and Steel.

• Level 75 Tera Lucario (Dalizapa Passage)
• Great Tusk (Scarlet Exclusive, Ground/Fighting, Area Zero)
• Iron Treads (Violet Exclusive, Ground/Steel, Area Zero)

Tyme's Pokémon and Strategy

Lycanroc (Midday) - Level 65, Rock

Moves: Stone Edge, Accelerock, Crunch, Stealth Rock

Weaknesses: Grass, Water, Fighting, Ground, Steel

Strategy: Use super-effective Grass, Water, Fighting, Ground, or Steel types. Koraidon or Lucario can quickly defeat this Pokémon.

Lycanroc (Midnight) - Level 65, Rock

Moves: Stone Edge, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Crunch

Weaknesses: Fighting, Ground

Strategy: Utilize Fighting or Ground types.

Drednaw - Level 65, Water/Rock

Ability: Strong Jaw

Moves: Razor Shell, Rock Blast, Jaw Lock, Ice Fang

Weaknesses: Grass (x4), Electric, Fighting

Strategy: Grass types deal quadruple damage. Electric or Fighting types are also effective. Be cautious if Drednaw is faster.

Stonjourner - Level 65, Rock

Moves: Stone Edge, Earthquake, Body Press, Heavy Slam

Weaknesses: Grass, Water, Fighting

Strategy: Use Grass, Water, or Fighting types.

Coalossal - Level 65, Rock/Fire

Ability: Steam Engine

Moves: Stone Edge, Heat Crash, Body Press, Heavy Slam

Weaknesses: Ground (x4), Water (x4), Fighting

Strategy: Ground types deal quadruple damage. Water types also deal quadruple damage but may trigger Steam Engine. Fighting types are also good.

Garganacl - Level 66, Rock (Tera Type: Rock)

Ability: Purifying Salt

Moves: Stone Edge, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch

Weaknesses: Fighting

Strategy: Garganacl will Terastallize, enhancing its Rock-type moves. Fighting types are the only safe counter.
