Your friendly guide to Naranja/Uva Academy in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! Learn how to start the Path of Legends, Victory Road, and Starfall Street storylines.

Alright, so you've made it to Mesagoza and you're ready to start your Paldean adventure! At the very top of that huge staircase, you'll find either Naranja Academy (if you're playing Scarlet) or Uva Academy (if you're playing Violet). Just head through those big front doors to get inside.

Once you step in, you'll be in the Entrance Hall. Think of it as a fancy reception area mixed with a library. Your rival, Nemona, will already be there, and soon after, the Director, Clavell, will join you.

Next up, you'll be whisked away to Classroom 1-A for your first lesson with Mr. Jacq, your homeroom teacher. After you introduce yourself, you'll get some free time to explore the academy. You can leave the classroom through the exits at the bottom-left or bottom-right.

A handy academy map will pop up, showing you where you can go. Right now, you've got three main spots to check out: the Cafeteria, the Staff Room, and the Director's Office (though you'll get directed there later). You can access the map anytime by heading to one of the turnstiles.

Let's head to the Cafeteria first. If you go here, you'll find Arven, the trainer you met at the lighthouse. He's going to ask you to go on a journey to find the Herba Mystica, which are special herbs protected by powerful Titan Pokémon. This is how you'll kick off the Path of Legends storyline. As you're leaving the Cafeteria, you'll get a call from Cassiopeia, who's got info about Team Star, setting you up for the Starfall Street storyline.

Alternatively, you can head to the Staff Room. Here, you'll catch Nemona chatting with Geeta. Nemona will then give you the push you need to challenge the 8 Gyms and pass the Champion Assessment to become a Champion yourself. This is the start of the Victory Road storyline.

After you've triggered both the Path of Legends and Victory Road storylines, you'll get a tannoy announcement asking you to visit the Director's Office. Just use the academy map to find it. Director Clavell will then introduce you to Professor Sada (in Scarlet) or Professor Turo (in Violet).

Once you're done with the Director, Nemona will grab you. When the academy map appears again, select Your Dorm Room and head to your bed to sleep. A few days will pass, and after Nemona wakes you up, head out of your room and select the Schoolyard from the academy map. Clavell will officially announce the start of the Treasure Hunt!

You'll then find yourself outside the academy. Start heading towards Mesagoza, and Nemona will catch up to you for a chat. Near the bottom of the path, you'll run into Arven again. After a bit of banter between Nemona and Arven, Cassiopeia will contact you once more, sending you details about Team Star's bases and officially starting the Starfall Street storyline.

From this point on, you're free to explore Paldea however you like and tackle the storylines in any order you choose! Just remember, there's no level scaling in the game, so wild Pokémon and trainer battles have fixed levels. If you want to make things a bit smoother, check out the recommended route through the game to avoid being too under or over-leveled.
