This one's a bit of a tricky customer, being exclusive to Violet and all, and it's definitely the rarest Paradox Pokémon you'll find in Area Zero. Think of it as the futuristic counterpart to the ancient Pokémon you'd find in Scarlet. These Paradox Pokémon are basically existing Pokémon with a twist – different types, different moves, and a whole new vibe!

To even get a shot at catching any Paradox Pokémon, you first need to get access to Area Zero. This is the big crater smack-dab in the middle of the Paldea region. You won't be able to head there until you've wrapped up the three main story paths: Victory Road, Starfall Street, and Path of Legends. Once you've finished the main story quest in Area Zero itself, you can zip back there anytime you want by just fast traveling to the Zero Gate. Easy peasy.

How to Find & Catch Iron Thorns

Now, for Iron Thorns specifically, it's probably the hardest one to track down in Pokémon Violet. It likes to hang out in Area Zero, but only near these specific gravelly slopes. You'll find these slopes close to Research Station No. 1 and Research Station No. 2. The best strategy here is to just keep jogging back and forth between these two spots. Keep checking those gravelly areas, and eventually, one should pop up. It might take a little patience, but it shouldn't be too long before you find one. When you do finally spot an Iron Thorns, expect it to be around Level 58. To give yourself the best chance of catching it, we found that Ultra Balls work wonders, so stock up!

Pro-Tip: Don't get discouraged if it takes a while for one to spawn! Just keep doing laps between the research stations and those gravelly slopes. You'll get it!
