Alright, so you've made it to the Sea Spirit's Den, and you're ready to face one of the legendary birds! This is it, the moment you've been waiting for. Remember, you only get one shot at this per game, so make sure you're absolutely prepared before you interact with it. Seriously, save your game right before you talk to it. If you mess up the catch, you'll have to restart the game and try again. No pressure, right?

Before you go in, stock up! You'll want a ton of Ultra Balls, and if you've been saving your Master Ball, now's the time to use it. Once you're all set, just interact with the legendary bird and let the battle begin!

Legendary Pokémon Battle

Just a heads-up, you can only catch one of these three legendary birds per game. So, choose wisely!

Using the Master Ball is the easiest way to guarantee you catch it, but it's a one-time item. You might want to save it for a Pokémon that's more likely to run away or is just generally tougher to catch.

If you don't want to use the Master Ball, here's the strategy: Teach one of your Pokémon Thunder Wave or Stun Spore to inflict Paralysis. This significantly boosts your catch rate. Then, use a move like False Swipe, which always leaves the opponent with at least 1 HP. After paralyzing the bird, hit it with False Swipe a couple of times. Then, try throwing a Quick Ball on the fourth turn – they have a great catch rate early on. If that doesn't work, just keep hitting it with False Swipe until its HP is at 1, and then start chucking Ultra Balls at it.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the turn count! After 20 turns, Timer Balls start getting really effective, with a x3.0 catch rate compared to the Ultra Ball's x2.0. If you're running low on balls, you can wait even longer for the Timer Ball's catch rate to go up to x4.0. Dusk Balls are also a solid choice since you're battling inside a cave.

Quick Tip: While Paralysis is good, Sleep or Frozen status conditions actually give a bigger boost to your catch rate (about 33% more effective). Just remember that these aren't permanent and you'll need to cure them, and no move can inflict Freeze without also dealing damage.

Once you've successfully caught your legendary bird, head back outside. Congrats, you did it!
